@[Crussell83:55141] yeah, pretty sure that wasn't meant to be taken seriously, Tump's a shit talker that likes to get people riled up and it clearly worked. IMO he was just was just trying to flex on Trudeau (who is more of an actual dictator).. it's ridiculous to say that this song is prophetic in any way, there is no war and there won't be, it's just propagandhi showing pride in Canada and being silly |

I'd agree but what really pist me off is that they released this song a long time ago with different lyrics! and honestly the old song was soooo much better than this. It sounded more honest. It's like they wanted to keep an aspect of the old sound but with a modern "twist". Boy sets fire was once my favorite band but this new album is a steamy pile of trying-to-sound-like-the-radio bullshit. to top it off it's cheezy as hell and just sounds fake. |

I love this song and think it's pretty straight forward. The path to Heaven is a struggle and plain unclear most of the time. I find it funny though that people have to tiptoe around God, there is a reason everything epic and cool is from the bible, but society wants to take all these things (Good vs. Evil, Angels, Heaven) and give earthly meanings. |

I agree with expressing your opinion, but this just sounds like they've seen it all and are just pissed off at the everything so they gotta yell' out all the awnsers before it's over. NO one group or person is at fault. Everyone's right somtimes and wrong most of it. And yes, religion is flawed but, Without a God there really is no ultimate right or wrong so why care in the first place.... |

I love this song, but it's kind of bullshit to agree because everyone feels this way at one time in life at least. Life is not fair, and you will be alone untill you go out and do something about it, but still it will never be perfect. But you should never give up, that's what it means to live |

I actually agree with emoTHUG55, I think A lot of elliott's stuff is very deeply spiritual, it is for me anyway. This song says to me: We're all still fucking up and we don't want to admit it's our fault, Daystar signifies Lucifer is winning this dark world "black coffin" we live in. We don't work together for any commen good. But God is the one thing that is good But we're worlds apart. The ones who believe are the last of his students and we wish for help on every falling star of his. And even though he doesn't make it easy on anyone, we come back to what's right. If we never find our way home, I'd be more than lost without you, and to all the skeptic onlookers, we should have never made it this far. |

My take may be a bit more epic, But it's how it came across to me. In the bible, Blue signifies truth from a celestial origin, which is truth from God. I think this song is a meshing of God and Time Rolling over us wothout yield. The splash of light that sends you airborne, Like divine light ascending you to heaven. Gold has often signified Christ. Most of it paints an apocolytic-like picture of an end of some sort.. Then there is the imagery of tears and sadness, but then let it fall ... it's alright. The end "All are believing none are alarmed" is almost saying we all new we had it coming |

I like most of the opinions. My thing is that it seems like you are all dwelling on the negative points of the song. I think, although he is asking why he should care? or what's worth dying for? But the beauty of this band is they give you the answer... "I am the reason you are the reason to abandon everything we have become". What IS worth dying for and what IS worth caring about is each other, our relationships, friends, family and loved ones. Everyone who is there face down in the shit with us to help us right back up! All of the other stuff in life, the "repetition" pales in comparrison . I see this as an amazing and uplifting song. |
