This song reminds me of two guys I know. eeek. also... I think they are more lyrics to this song. I think these are lyrics to the techno version or something. This song is basically about a girl being mistreated by a guy. There's another guy who wants to be with her but she wants the one she's with even though he is treating her like shit. This is song could mean so many things because it's about so many things! I haven't read all the comments on this, only two actually, so I'm sorry if I repeat anything. In the beginning Jay-Z's there because Fall Out Boy is signed to his record company. Fall Out Boy was just a small band from Chicago, who not many people knew about until 2005. The critics didn't believe Fall Out Boy had to potential to make it, thus the of Jay-Z. Jay-Z signed them to his record company for a reason, he thought they'd blow up. It took a while but they sure are everywhere now! "To the fans that held us down"--> They didn't have many fans in the beginning. This song was written by Pete so it's mostly about him, but EVERYONE can relate one way or the other. "Last summer we took threes across the board But by fall we were a cover story" That basically means that the critics gave them three stars out of five and said they were just average. By fall Pete's sidekick pictures covered the internet. "Make us poster boys for your scene But we are not making an accepting speech" Every magazine wanted Fall Out Boy. Interviews, photo shoots, for EVERYTHING! This basically states that they will be your poster boys, but your reason for wanting them is something they are not proud of. (Pete's not proud of taking those pictures on his sidekick and getting it leaked all over the internet.) "I have found the safest place to keep all our old mistakes Every dot com's refreshing for a journal update" This refers to how Pete's pictures are still there and how people take it as a publicity stunt. Pete has an online journal and obsessive fans keep refreshing second after second to see if an update has happened. "So long live the car-crash heart Cry on the couch all the poets come to life Fix me in 45" The first line of the bridge is about the fans. The second and third refer to therapy. Pete had to go to therapy due to his suicide attempt. At most therapy places they make you lay down on a couch. To complete a therapy session it take 45 day. "I can take your problems away With a nod and a wave Of my hand 'Cause that's just the kind of boy that I am" Again, referring to obsessive fans. If you are a major Fall Out Boy fan and you got a wave from a band member, you'd scream and jump and your problems for the day are forgotten. The last line means your problems have gone away because you got a wave from SOMEONE FAMOUS. "The only thing I've haven't done yet is die And it's me and my plus one at the afterlife Crowds are won and lost and won again But our hearts beat for the diehards" First line is about Pete's suicide attempt. He's done EVERYTHING, even tried killing himself, but it failed. The third line is about how some people yet again, thought it was a publicity stunt and how others thought of Pete in a more respectable way. Basically stating, that suicide attempt gained them fans and lost them a few. Diehards are people who are really devoted or dedicated to something. It's about the true F.O.B. fans, the ones who were there from the time no one knew about them and who are still there after all the things that have occurred. Pete's heart beats for his fans. This song is my fav on the cd : ] It's great. I love it. The title was supposed to be "Carcrash Hearts" but Pete thought it mocks Michael Jackson so it's called "Thriller." Haha. I'm going to Honda Civic on the 15th AND the 16th so I'm really excited! I love Fall Out Boy! Specially Pete Wentz. You can't blame me. :] He's hot... and an amazing writer. You don't even have to wait 15 seconds for then song to actually start. From the first semi-second this song is great! The first sentence is really catchy! "I comb the crowd and pick you out" that means, they are looking all over the place for that one girl and they finally found her. This song is basically saying, one night stands means shit. "Through the keyhole I watched you dress Kiss and tell" That part tells you that the guy caught the girl kissing/ having sex with some one else;; he caught her cheating on him. "Loose lips sink ships" That basically means eventually people find out the truth because people talk : ] |
