| Missy Higgins – Peachy Lyrics | 18 years ago |

what does she sing in the middle, during the 'break' in the song? does she say 'creamy'? |

| Jacques Brel – Je Ne Sais Pas Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I'll translate: I don't know why the rain leaves its spot in the sky I don't know why those heavy grey clouds are there if they'll only intend to sleep above our land I don't know why the wind enjoys blowing on a bright morning passing on the laughs of children or the poor chimes in winter I know nothing about that But I know I still love you I don't know why this city opens its town-walls for me to gently let me slide underneath the rain of love I don't know why these people to celebrate my loss to follow the funeral have their noses stuck to the windows I know nothing about that But I know I still love you I don't know why these streets open one by one in front of me empy and cold, cold and naked Nothing but my steps, not even the moon I don't know why the night while playing me like a guitar has forced me to come here to cry in front of this station I know nothing about that But I know I still love you I don't know when the train leaves That sad train to Amsterdam that a couple has to get this evening A couple of which you are the lady And I don't know at which gate this massive ship for Amsterdam leaves that breaks my heart and body and our love and future I know nothing about that But I know I still love you But I know I still love you |

| Jacques Brel – Avec Élégance Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'll translate: Feeling a bit Roman But in times of decadence Scratching your memory with two hands Not talk but to your silence And Not wanting to be loved anymore Being desperate But with grace Feeling the mountain is more slippery Then at the time when your body was thin Reading in the eyes of the charming that the province is fifty years old (?) And Burning your dying youth But hate the ones who throw it away Being inconsolable But with grace Going out to pass through bars Where you're always the oldest one Spending tips there To a few silent bartenders And Nibbling on everyday snacks With old women in your power Being inconsolable But with grace Knowing that you've always been afraid to know how much you are scared to be able to be happy knowing you cannot forgive anymore And Not having anything big to dream about no more But listening to your dancing heart Being inconsolable But with outlook |

| Maroon 5 – Miss You, Love You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love it when he's singing the chorus in the end, it has so much anger in it. "I miss you, I love you, it's a shame you can't stay away from me this time." Absolutely love it. Should have been a released single. |

| Missy Higgins – Peachy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This may sound dumb but I don't speak English so... what exactly does she mean by 'peachy'? | |
| Sara Bareilles – Gravity Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Seriously, this is one of the few songs that makes me go all quiet in the end. Specially when she sings the 'down' part. I don't mind that all of her songs are in fact about the same person/situation, it only makes the songs more real, cause of the autobiographicy. You can sense the emotion in this one. | |
| Plain White T's – A Lonely September Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's astonishing how some people hardly ever fall in love, and when they do, it's impossible to be with that specific person. And you'll only have eyes for that person, you want him so bad but you know it's never going to happen, because something's in your way, although he has feelings for you as well. Life can be truly unfair sometimes. I think that's what this song is about. He's looking back on an experience from the past ("I didnt mean to meet you when we were just kids"). He fell in love with a girl who obviously had feelings for him too, but she has a boyfriend whom she truly loves and she's not willing to take the risk of sacrificing her relationship for another guy. Cause maybe things wouldn't work out at all with that guy, and she wants to have someone, rather than no-one. Sometimes the worst thing about a broken heart is the way it all started, and not how it ended. |

| Regina Spektor – Edit Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love that line "You can write but you can't edit" Anyone can relate to that line, it has so many different meanings. To me it's about doing things you are going to regret, the so-called "writing history" and then when the moment comes of your regret, you're not able to edit your history, to change it. |

| Mika – Ring Ring Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think there are a few mistakes in the lyrics. It should be: "I was sitting on the fence" "I never thought I wouldn't miss you" "It's what I wanted, until you blasted" "You make me dizzy when you play me like a kid with a crayon" Hope this helps :) |

| Feist – 1234 Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Such a beautiful, light-headed song. I agree with NewLibertine that the numbers represent the innocence of being young and in love. "1 2 3 4 Tell me that you love me more" Is exactly what teenage love is all about. I think this song is about two very young people who are in love yet still in the process of growing up. All is so different when you are a teenager, there comes a time you start looking at life in an other way. And I think that time has come for her partner, as she is saying "You are changing your heart": he's becoming a different person and that results in various effects on their relationship. |

| Scouting for Girls – Elvis Ain't Dead Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
The meaning of this is pretty obvious. Girl and guy are going out, girl falls in love with other guy and has to make a decision between guy number 1 and guy number 2. She chooses guy number 2 and guy number 1 stays behind feeling heartbroken and still believing she'll come back to him. "Elvis isn't dead And you're coming back to me I know" Methaphorical way of saying 'I believe you are coming back to me cause I also believe Elvis isnt dead, but I know damn good he is'. He's comparing her coming back to him with Elvis being alive: it is impossible. I know Scouting For Girls don't exactly have songs in which every word is a metaphor for a deeper meaning of the lyrics, but that's what I like about them. They are very straight forward and you can just sing along and actually UNDERSTAND what you're singing along to. |

| Fall Out Boy – Sending Postcards from a Plane Crash (Wish You Were Here) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Quoting heckyeahitsanna: "It's an extremely hateful song, he's very angry adn I totally relate. People who have no been betrayed in such a way liek this say how increidbly hateful they must be a scary person, but the truth is these lyrics put things the way many people wish they could find the words for." I think that is very true. |

| The Long Blondes – You Could Have Both Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm not too sure about this, but shouldn't it be "And it's obvious that you're a man that's out to own her" instead of "And it's obvious that you're a man that's after her own heart" or am I mistaken? The meaning of this song isn't too hard to figure out. I like this song. Most of all, I like the part where it goes: She's away And you get by without her very well If I'm around You get by without her even better I think that's really funny, in a way :) |

| José González – Heartbeats Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I've read these lyrics over and over again and I really can't figure out what they are trying to say. I agree it is a beautiful song and the guitar sounds amazing, but this version just doesn't touch me as much as this one does: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHPWYX0rYn0 It is the same song, sung by a well-known Belgian choir called 'Scala' (Don't look at the video, just listen to the song, I couldn't find the song anywhere else on the internet). Normally I am not really into choirs, but this time I really fell for it. It has such emotion in it, a lot more than when José González sings it. |
