Black albinos are hunted by other africans for their purported magical properties. Which, of course, is bogus. The singer is straight edge, so I guess the lyrics are about chasing "fake highs". Compare the song to David Comes To Life, which could be interpreted as a story about a man who uses drugs as a shortcut to a higher conscience. |

Me, I have a hard time trying to adjust, to me summer is usually 50% anxiety, 50% exhilaration. But, overall, I'm rather scared than bored. Bring summer on! Totally awesome song though. |

I agree with the idea that it could be about bipolar disorder, some lines could describe the alternating racing thoughts and "empty mind" that bipolars can suffer, and some lines could be interpreted as description of the ways one copes with the disease, it's ups and downs. Some parts could deal with being in a band, and what to dedicate oneself to. I love the chorus, "this wilderness that's up in my head, this wilderness needs to get right out of my clothes and get into my bedroom!". When too much is going on, it's hard to get to sleep, but oh man sleeping is soo goood. |
