| Alexisonfire – You Burn First Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Best thing they've ever done, and I think it's a hint of the more Post-Hardcore/Rock direction they'll take. Rough Hands also hints in that direction as well. It's much more mature, controlled, precise and well written. The screaming isn't teenage angst ridden cliche, it's a proper scream that sounds like anger instead of mimicing it. I think I'd have liked to hear Dallas singing on it as well, he's got a great voice, but Gerad has such a cool voice as well. Looking forward to more like this. Depends if they want to carry on appealing to just the kids or a wider more informed audience. Saucer of milk! :P il pretty much guarentee you that is definatley not "the direction theyre headed in" they have a handfull of songs on not conforming to mainstream shit sooo... not sure if youve actually listened to the new album or not... or even this song seeing as you said somthing about the screaming in this song which im stil yet to hear listen to the cd then get bak to us anyways as for the song, solid tune prbably the worst on the album but by no means is it a bad song, i still like it |

i think i read an interview on this one.... pretty sure dallas said it was just about burning mailboxes guess it kinda sticks with the theme of the album and talk about a city (probably st kitts) |

"I think this song follows a theme to the record about them returning home, and being disgusted. There is a drug problem in St Catherines, ONT and I think the guys are trying to relate this to us. Some of there old friends have abandonded them, and now they are horrified" BAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!! a drug problem in st kittz?? hahha, that actually almost brought a tear to my eye and like a few ppl have said, its all about their old drummer. look at the line sayin "And time won't heal shit When you've got your hands in my pockets" I think its pretty obvious how jesse's stil got the royalies comin in from the first two albums meh, solid tune. spesh considering hastings is soo much better!!! jesse can get fucked |

| Alexisonfire – Boiled Frogs Lyrics | 18 years ago |

for the title relating to the song... seeing as how its georges dad n the whole pension thing and trying to get him to quit... his boss was metaphorically "turning up the heat on him" tryin to get him to "jump out" |

i think this can be cleared up really easily lookin at the song crisis "A blizzard's coming in the year punk died. (One nine seven seven)" so considerin we are pretty sure they werent referin to the blizzard back on the first cd... i think we can safley say he was reffering to punk dieing and one of the previous comments was saying that punk was being born then, if thats the case, maybe they have a different opinion on what punk is and infact those bands destroyed it?? just a thought |
