| Islands – J'Aime Vous Voir Quitter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Isn't the title incorrect, grammatically? I thought it should be "J'aime Voir Vous Quitter", in other words, 'I love to watch you leave'. |

| Xiu Xiu – I Luv the Valley OH! Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Basically, Jamie's using incorrect French grammar here, unless he means to say "I love you, the valley" as if the valley was a real person he was talking to or something. xxx I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that. I love love this song, but it frustrated me every time that the french grammar was wrong. Maybe it's because he is talking to the valley as a person. I like to think of it that way. |

| Do you spell it "rejecter" or "rejector"? | |
| of Montreal – Gronlandic Edit Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"I guess it would be nice to give my heart to a god/ But which one/ Which one do I choose?" Pretty much describes my thoughts on religion right there. Kevin wows me daily with his genius. |

| of Montreal – Derailments in a Place of Our Own Lyrics | 18 years ago |
So powerful. Icons, Abstract Thee may be one of my favorite albums of all time. Each song is just bursting with different levels of emotion. This one resonates with uncontrolled, bitter resentment. So many different facets of Kevin! I can't even put it into words. |

| Argh, double post. Lame. | |
| of Montreal – Softcore Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I totally agree with Kevin in his saying that indie rock these days lacks sexuality. So I suppose it's up to him to inject it into just about everything he does. | |

| of Montreal – We Were Born the Mutants Again with Leafling Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song breaks my heart. "You are my twin/no I will never go there" just makes my heart swell. It's good to know that there's a happy ending though. Oh, and "Leafling" is a definite reference to Alabee. Like they're being reborn because they need to for little Alabee. |

One of my favorites off "The Gay Parade". Yeah, you tell 'em, Jacques! You don't need that hussy Megan Blanchard! |
| of Montreal – Death of a Shade of a Hue Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think you're right that it's about a "legacy" living on after a person has died, but I haven't really looked too much into these lyrics. The vocals on this song are gorgeous. Really beautiful. |

| of Montreal – No Conclusion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love how he says "now don't worry, kevin" at the beginning of this song. It's like his final acceptance that this isn't Georgie Fruit's problem, it's all him. It's real, and he's going to do his best to keep his family together. All the songs on this EP just break my heart. |
| of Montreal – Miss Blonde Your Papa Is Failing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song because it's so atypical of Of Montreal. Just an acoustic guitar and Kevin (metaphorically) weeping into it. Oh Alabee! |

| Bright Eyes – Make War Lyrics | 18 years ago |
When I first heard this song, my reaction was "What the hell?" As someone who can't stand country, I was a little surprised, but intrigued enough to keep listening. I have to say I love this song AND the country influences. It's really amazing how one artist can change my mind about something. |

| Bright Eyes – Let's Not Shit Ourselves (To Love and to Be Loved) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think that this song is just Conor thinking out loud. He's questioning society, struggling with obstacles from the past (alcohol poisoning?), and just commenting on everything he sees. This song is so brilliant I can't formulate words to describe it. Conor is such an inspiring lyricist...I cannot pick a favorite lyric out of this entire song. ...but of course, I can't help but love, "TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED, LET'S JUST HOPE THAT IS ENOUGH" |
| Bright Eyes – Don't Know When but a Day Is Gonna Come Lyrics | 18 years ago |
That's an interesting point you bring up, amixorp07, but I disagree. This song resonates with too much controlled anger for that to be hope, in my opinion. I think Conor's just reiterating his desensitized view towards Christianity here. |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – Porcelina of the Vast Oceans Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Maybe this album is more a loose concept of human emotion. The day-to-night theory is also interesting, but I have to say I disagree with Pyrrhic - that just takes away the beauty of the song! I can't pinpoint exactly what this song is about, but it reminds me a little bit of Greek Mythology (Porcelina, she waits for me there - reminds me of this white-skinned beautiful goddess standing on the edge of the shore, arms outstretched for her lover. Metaphor? That's just how I interpret it. The song is just filled with so much longing and emotion and yet at the same time, distance and indifference. It's a work of art. I can't describe how perfect it is. It's sort of this vague but strong sense of emotion in a hazy, dream-like world, like waking up with a lingering and choking sadness from a soon-forgotten dream. I'm rambling, but in short, even if I don't really understand it, this is my favorite song. |

| My Chemical Romance – Teenagers Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I've got the lyrics right in front of me, and it's definetly "another COG IN THE murder machine." 'Cognitive' would make sense though. Anyway. This song doesn't fit in with the album at all, but I still love it. Every band has to have a couple of hardcore highschool/teenager songs, and this was one of them. And I'm sure many fans (including myself) can relate to the lyrics. Although I'm kind of bummed they picked it as a single. I saw the unreleased version of the vid and every other word was censored, even junk like "murder" "pay" and "shirt". WTF? |
