My Chemical Romance – Teenagers Lyrics 18 years ago
Definitely about being scared of teenagers. I mean, they're intimidating!

Lol, and addressing school shootings, bullies, cliques, drugs, gangs, etc. ...Just big and small things one encounters as a modern teenager.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Californication Lyrics 18 years ago
I kind of object to the mention of teenage pregnancy. There are too many exceptions to that example. And I'm surprised they made no mention of eating disorders.

Could someone elaborate on the phrases below? I guess I just don't understand this song in depth. Beyond the corruption everyone experiences due to Hollywood's twisted image of perfection. I think there's more to it though, but I dunno.

"Sicker then the rest
There is no test
But this is what you’re craving"

"And earthquakes are to a girl’s guitar
They are just another good vibration"

"First born unicorn"

"Getting high on information"

Emilie Autumn – Thank God I'm Pretty Lyrics 18 years ago
She makes a point about how appearance-driven we are and that, as much as it seems the opposite, attractive people's lives are as difficult as unattractive, for different reasons. I like the sarcasm in it, because if it were straightfoward in saying "being pretty kind of sucks" she'd sound like a whiny prat. The sarcasm helps, but I agree with Hailbane. She sounds really stuck up.

Chevelle – Antisaint Lyrics 18 years ago
The white elephant represents a pure and large [in power] being. “Visit again” is a sarcastic way of saying go away. “Who sent you to loom [or intrude] here?”

“You” [the elephant] ponder what we tell you, while “we” [the crows] ponder why you care.

The crows represent dark/corrupt, small [again, in power] beings.

The elephant starts to follow crows and climbs the ladder, becoming successful. But the success is dangerous. It’s “somewhere out” and the elephant is beginning “to scare”.

The elephant is plotting grounds with a fine-tooth comb, meaning it’s searching for something important.

“Nothing to say for the last time” = No final words; no Will. He “just wants to sink his will”. Meaning: 1. He wants to get his way and/or 2. He wishes to sink [drown]. I think these two lines are depicting the elephant planning its suicide without a Will.

“Like a predator’s prey in the cold”, the elephant’s only option is how it dies because it’ll die either from the predator attacking it or freezing to death. The elephant [or the crows’ prey] “slowly starts to show”. It appears to the predator so it can die faster.

“Assurance is what they need.” Maybe this is something that a crow remarked on about followers that need proof. “Hold the lion until it's fed.” They controlled the elephant until it was less likely to rebel. “It's still only morning but the flies surfaced.” They killed the elephant at night and by morning there were flies on its carcass.

“The stakes are too low” I guess means that they crows have little to gain or lose by killing the elephant. “We may not need any.” They don’t need risks; they do it for entertainment. “Course we never feared it.” They crows deny being afraid of the elephant, even though it was powerful, because they have their manipulation on their side.

“And if you could tell… That the cleverest acting was the lying by you.”
And this whole time, they’ve been seducing you into the same fate with a different method.

You poor little antisaint. :) Ingenious.
