Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics 15 years ago
I think Fall Out Boy has a formula for drawing in the ears of their fans.

If you noticed, all their biggest singles, featured here, fit perfectly into the melody of this song.

Not to mention that almost all of their songs have a theme of "I'm a liar leading you all, I'm fooling all of you with my charm but really I'm a total fake."

And that's about all I have to say about "What a Catch, Donnie."

Panic! at the Disco – We're So Starving (Rough Version) Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is kind of an intro to their next album, being that it is the first track and all. It kind of explains the simple lyrics. Well, that and they've changed their style and they're more simple in every musical aspect.

Bloc Party – Flux Lyrics 16 years ago
Maybe it's just me, but I think it might be about a distant, troubled relationship between father and son. The father used to be just like the son is now in his youth, but grew up to be cold and harsh, always acting as though he's superior to the son. The two disagree on a lot, but in their hearts the two love each other and want to be close like they used to be.

By "state of flux" I think it means that this is the chance that they have to repair their relationship, this is the time when things can change. Things are going back and forth between the two of them, and right now is the climax of their fight: either they can split forever, or they can fix it all right now.

Fall Out Boy – Hand of God Lyrics 17 years ago
Fall Out Boy is sick of people analyzing their song lyrics and trying to understand what they mean. Because no one really knows except the ones who wrote the song. People who think that it's all about having a miserable life and being mopey about it and complaining and slitting your wrists to Fall Out Boy songs... they don't write their songs for that. That's not what they are about. I don't know what they are about, but I think they are being pretty clear here.

Panic! at the Disco – There's a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of It Yet Lyrics 17 years ago
Oh, and I think this song has more than one meaning, and I think that's intentional, because I've noticed it with pretty much all of their songs.

Panic! at the Disco – There's a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of It Yet Lyrics 17 years ago
Okay, I'm probably wrong, but I think this song actually refers to their fan base and predictions of what will happen in the music scene.

"Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer, never looked better and you can't stand it."

I think that means that there are going to be numerous bands (like... Somato Sensory) that will copy them, and Panic! At The Disco will multiply until there are too many of them. However, because the new music is actually really good ("never looked better"), people will just be on P!ATD about how much their music sucks ("you can't stand it"), just because they don't want to look like sheep, following everyone else to P!ATD.

Then the rest of it is a shot at unartistic punks who only listen to bad music (like pop) and how eventually the lame pop music of today is going to die out and music like P!ATD is going to take over, and all the people who like today's pop music are going to be left out ("from that moment, you'll be out of place and underdressed").

This could be a prediction of how all the people who listen to pop and R&B and rap and other non-P!ATD-type music are going to be shocked and appalled by what the band does. "When did he (that emo loser who looks like a girl and has always been quiet and shy) get all confident?" they will ask themselves.

"So of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch!"

...or shock the world with this new music.

So just keep telling yourselves that Panic! At The Disco are just a bunch of divas, and they'll be gone soon, pop sheep. But don't be shocked when everything doesn't go accordingly to plan and your world blows up when your safe little musical world cigarette explodes with the nitroglycerin Panic! At The Disco.

...like I said, just my interpretation, probably wrong.

Fall Out Boy – Fame < Infamy Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, here's my interpretation.

Okay, Fall Out Boy fans. Chill out. They have a good sound, but most of the time nowadays, their lyrics just talk about how stupid their fanbase is, and how musicians nowadays are fake and do it all for the wrong reasons.

For example, "I am preacher gift, sweating in the pews For the salvation, I'm bringing you." is basically mocking how people idolize Fall Out Boy. They ARE just a band, after all.

"When I think of you There's too much green
to feel blue"... come on guys, what the hell do you think that means? Obviously, the "blue" comes from how disappointed they are with their new fans who didn't support them until their mainstream days, and how the new fans are just a mockery of the old ones. Then again, they're getting paid so much "green" that frankly, they don't care all that much anymore.

So for you new fans who don't quite understand Fall Out Boy, and I'm not saying I do, I'm not them, but I'm pretty sure I know what they're talking about... quit thinking about how great Pete Wentz or Joe Trohman would be in bed, because you don't know, their probably just "alright". You don't know them. Just listen to their music. Because that's what it was all about in the first place. He's "better with a pen" anyway.
