| Tom Waits – Soldier's Things Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think of "This one is for bravery, and this one is for me." as meaning that he didn't think he was brave, that there wasn't a reason for him receiving the medal. | |
| Switchfoot – Let That Be Enough Lyrics | 16 years ago |
From a non-Christian point of view (like my own,) it is simply a song about feeling alone, and needing someone to be there for you. I, personally, enjoy the fact that Switchfoot isn't a band that has "Lord" and "God" in a lot of their lyrics, because it can really blur the meaning of a song. (i.e. "My Beautiful Rescue" by This Providence, which says "Lord" once, therefore changing the interpretation of the song) Anyway, amazing song, amazing band! :D |

| John Mayer – No Such Thing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
'they love to tell you "stay inside the lines" but something's better on the other side' when i was little, i would always go over to my neighbor's house with my sister, (this neighbor is more like a grandparent) and my neighbor's sister would always be like "stay inside the lines, val" while i was coloring all over the place, meanwhile, my sister's would be perfect, inside the lines, realistic colors and everything. it's strange how the smallest things can mirror some of the biggest things in our lives. |

| The Spill Canvas – The Dutch Courage Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"I am utterly disgusted with the path you trek As inebriated as you can get off your latest pay check I am at a loss for words here I hate to break this to you but being a coward is not a legitimate career" reminds me of a girl that broke up with me; she 'just couldn't do it anymore,' and didn't even remember calling me a couple nights prior.....she got a new girlfriend (maybe, boyfriend?) less than a week later..... |

| Hidden in Plain View – The Innocent Ones Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| Sarah Bettens – Shine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| my sister is off in paris right now, and once she gets back home, she might be moving away to either colorado or back to california, and we live in new york. it's hard to have to be away from her again, but it's part of her life that i know needs to happen. this song reminds me of her, without a doubt. | |
| The Pierces – Three Wishes Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| Tegan and Sara – This Is Everything Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| to me, the first verse sounds like she's scared of getting caught and coming out, so they're both getting hurt because of it. | |
| Tegan and Sara – When I Get Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this song so much; it's so calm and fragile. it's amazing live.....the only song anyone stays quiet for; it's just that kind of song. |
| India.Arie – I Am Not My Hair Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| Tegan and Sara – I Can't Take It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
in a interview sara said, "The last song on the record is dedicated to people who are alone. I mean, like alone and you stub your toe and you fall on the ground and you sob hysterically into the ground and you are like, 'What is wrong with my life?'" the last song on the record is 'i can't take it' |
| All Time Low – Remembering Sunday Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| Tegan and Sara – I Was Married Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"I’ve read that ‘I Was Married’ is about gay marriage. What made you write about that? Sara went through a lot this year. She and her partner, who is American, decided to apply for permanent (Canadian) residency as common law partners. She said there was a moment while they were filling out the paperwork where she thought, ‘It feels like we’re getting married!’ That’s what prompted her to write the song. I don’t want to speak for her, but I think Sara was reflecting on how she was experiencing this genuinely amazing feeling of loving another person while also realizing there’s this whole part of the world that doesn’t approve of her relationship." that's from an interview tegan had with gaydarradio.com |
| Tegan and Sara – Like O, Like H Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think it's about figuring out who you are. "when i was 8 i was sure i was growing nerves"--she knew something was 'different' about her. "I was four plus ten, I was swinging fists"--she figured out who she was but was mad that she was too scared to tell anyone. and the "oh, sugar spell it out" part i think is her mother asking her to explain what was wrong. i dont know, that's just my take of it. |
| Something Corporate – I Woke Up In A Car Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| Ingrid Michaelson – The Way I Am Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| definitely, teenqueen22, she does, but i cant remember what that other girl's name is. a girl at my school sang this song at a pageant at my school and she looks so much like her except she has brown-ish hair instead. | |
| MxPx – Secret Weapon Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i think that it means that you have to accept what happens to you and when someone tries to bring you down, to stand up for yourself | |
| My Chemical Romance – I Don't Love You (Like I Did Yesterday) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i can really relate to this song. i think it's about not being accepted by people you love. in my opinion i think the line 'so sick and tired of all the needless beating' is referring to his heart. he doesn't feel like he has a reason to live because of this person. | |
| Dashboard Confessional – Stolen Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| it's about a summer romance, and how it's not the same once summer ends. the love will still be there, but it won't be care free like it was, it'll be hard to stay together. | |
| Megan Mccauley – Wonder Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"When Breathing's a burden we all have to bear And trust is one thing we're taught never to share" i don't know why but for some reason, i love those two lines. |
| Sean Kingston – Beautiful Girls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i love how it uses the beat to "stand by me" it makes the song 1 million times better. its such a true song i love the line: "Oh when you took my heart That's when we fell apart 'Cause we both thought That love lasts forever (lasts forever)" that part is just so beautifully written |
