I totally agree with phins4gish. LP has matured so much, which I think increased the average age of their base of listeners, older people tend to like this slow emotional style because it reminds them of their life experiences unlike the teens who loved the smash and shout style, not that it was bad, but it just isn't a good medium for the messages this album wants to deliver. And I also think this is cleared in the album title, minutes to midnight, as the end draws near when you feel sad and fragile, the shouts just can't get this emotion through. that's why they needed the slow *yet amazing* album. I think this album has the best LP songs ever. |
