when i first heard this song, i assumed it was about a relationship ("off and on"..and "this spell that we cast upon ourselves")... but then when i read the line about family crying, it threw me off. it could be about an addiction to a person, or to a drug, or to anything. just addiction in general. ..something that you can't see yourself living without. (...i'm master of the obvious) |

...i agree... it seems like two old friends (or lovers) are seeing each other again for the first time in years. and he seems happy to see that the other person has a family now, and that life is going well for them. this song makes me kind of sad... but i think it was meant to be peaceful. |
