| Evanescence – My Immortal Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song isn't about a breakup or a death. It is about the pain of growing up. She is struggling with all of her past fears and pain of chilhood. The hint is in the beginning when she says she is so tired of being supressed by childish fears. She remembers happier times in childhood when she felt she was captivating and filled with light. She doesn't feel the same anymore because of things that have happened in her life. The fighting, screaming and fears were her own. She reveals a child who needed help and support but had no one but herself to rely on. Ultimately she acknowledges she is alone and always has been. She is alone and supressed by her own fears. She feels stuck with this eternal pain and feels it will be with her forever. Thus the title, My immortal. | |
| Radiohead – Exit Music (For a Film) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I have the Baz Lurhman version of the play and this song was made for the exit music. Radiohead was sent the movie by the director who asked them to create the exit music for it. Thom had seen the 1968 version of the movie. At first he tried to use actual lines from Shakespeare's play but eventually he gave up the idea and Exit Music is what he created instead. (thank you Thom) | |

| The woman on the background on the black box recording is saying, "help me." Listen to it again carefully. | |

| Radiohead – True Love Waits Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'll drown my beliefs To have your babies I'll dress like your niece And wash your swollen feet Just don't leave, don't leave And true love waits In haunted attics And true love lives On lollipops and crisps Just don't leave, don't leave I'm not living I'm just killing time Your tiny hands Your crazy kitten smile Just don't leave Just don't leave This song is for his family. It is about unconditional love and a wish for the moment to never end. The don't leave is not directed at the people involved but rather at the transitory nature of that amazing moment. It is sad in the sense that when we experience such amazing joy we know it can't last forever. I'm not living, I'm just killing time He regrets that time must pass, notice the very next lines refer to the tiny hands and crazy kitten smile. He knows that his baby will grow up and that moment will be lost to him. So sweet and so true. This is an amazing love song for his family. |

| TheGoodSprocket the lyrics you have are not the ones on the new album. They completely took out the references to a flash flood. | |

Please go here: http://www.greenplastic.com/lyrics/allineed.php The proper lyrics are "lying in the reeds." What "lies in the reeds?" Alligators seeking prey or hunting birds waiting for a bird to drop after being shot are lying in the reeds. This song goes beyond just ordinary love and into obsession/stalking. |

Correction It is much *too* eerie to be a love song. I absolutely hate it when people make that mistake and now I just did it! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!! |

I believe these to be the correct lyrics. Yes it is a stalker song. It is much to eerie to be a love song. I'm the next act waiting in the wings I'm an animal Trapped in your hot car I am all the days that you choose to ignore You are all I need You are all I need I'm in the middle of your picture Lying in the reeds I am a moth who just wants to share your light I'm just an insect trying to get out of the night I only stick with you because there are no others You are all I need You are all I need I'm in the middle of your picture Lying in the reeds It's all wrong It's all right It's all wrong |

I believe the lyrics are, lying in the reeds and not leaves. This is a significant difference as reeds grow tall and would be a place to hide. Therefore, I believe this song is about a stalker. This is NOT a love song. |

| This song is about social darwinism. Essentially it describes the idea that once must kill or be killed, eat or be eaten. | |

I have to disagree with so many of you who think this is a depressing song. This song is about depression, but it is a song of hope. The key is in the lyrics: In a little while I'll be gone The moments already passed Yeah it's gone The song then guides you through that period of dissonance with the string section at the end. Thom's voice (sounds like a cry) is barely audible throughout the period of dissonance, yet it is there. Then it rises out of the dissonance and is clear and loud again as the song closes. In essence we go through the moment of dissonance with him and then we are with him as it passes and is audibly gone. The lyrics set up the moment for us and then we audibly experience the moment and its passing. It just feels so personal to go through it with Thom, that is why this song is so meaningful. If you are depressed or have ever been depressed there is so much hope in the realization that it is truly just a moment in your life, and it will pass. The song is filled with hope and is brilliant! |
