I really think you make some great analysis with the lyrics. Perhaps on the following verse: "If somebody's got soul You gotta make them move Make them move" You said you weren't certain on how to interpret it. Maybe you could look at it as telling people that if someone has what you are looking for within them, "soul" then you should make them move to meet you half way. |

| Stars – The Night Starts Here Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This song is by far one of my favorite Star songs. I wouldn't say I'd be able to describe it in a cohesive paragraph, but these are the general feelings I've interpreted from the song. Night is mysterious, intriguing, sexual, detached, and more of everything it is scary. The title of the song alone seems to be signifying all of this and the lyrics. Spontaneous. One night only. For the sole purpose of pleasure. Taking a chance or a risk. A mistake. No love. Romanticism/hazy. Freedom is a huge factor. Sexuality. It has the sound of a moment where the intensity of the moment is too much. The combination of youthful freedom and mutual attraction is expressed in the lyrics but also the music that backs them. An important thing to consider about the lyrics is that while the fit together, they are separate and make more sense that way. These almost work together by mistake-come together by mistake or chance. Somehow the music does feel like a night in a city. Haha, I know it's rather vague in some senses, but it's such a powerful song in feeling that it's hard to explain it simply. |

| Tegan and Sara – Where Does the Good Go Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I agree with most of your responses saying that this song has to do with how a person feels after a relationship. "Where do you go with your broken heart in tow What do you do with the left over you And how do you know when to let go Where does the good go" I interpret that the "good" is actually the good you find in someone, or your ex possibly. The good in that person that makes it hard for you to let go of them and move on. So pretty much it's asking where does the good in that person go, when you're trying to let go and move on from them. I mean this is only on interpretation of many other possibilities. I just love this song, and can really relate to the lyrics after just ending a relationship recently. |
