well, i don't know about you guys, but to me, im guessing that its actually three in the afternoon but because he's too drunk/high (either one, im not sure which) and totally dazed, he's looking at the face of the clock in the mirror. obviously, the reflection will show the position of the clock's hands to be poiting as if it's three o'clock but the number its poiting to is nine and a glance out the window makes it obvious that its the middle of the day. so, hence the term "nine in the afternoon." what do you guys think? |

this song is superbly awesome. the best ive heard all year. there might be no actual meaning to it but WHO CARES?? its a super super fun song and it gets me dancing every time. and the dance moves are really catchy. i actually wasted my time teaching myself those steps so i could irritate my mum dancing around the house. ROFLMAO! |

i have a similar experience too. i used to be a top student but started slacking after mixing wit sum bad company.my grades sufferred terribly and my parents kept yelling the hell outta me.my world seemed to be crashing around me.but i couldnt care less coz these new friends were so much fun to be with.finally, i realised my mistake and started keeping my distance from them so i could concentrate on my studies and gurantee myself a good future. i tried advising em but they wudnt listen.well, guess whose the loser in the end?
this song has a similar meaning.the singer was once caught up in smtg.he realised n tried breaking free.his friends wudnt listen to him when he tried telling em as well.so he's telling em in this song that they can do whatever they want to coz hes realised his mistake and is leaving them on their own now since they dont want to believe him.
great song.awesome beat.fort minor is genius. |

edwards1015 is right. swearing for no particular reason is immature. you dont necessarily need bad words to emphasise smtg.some of the greatest songs ever written dont have a single swear word in em (ie panic! at the disco).but i still LOVE this song to bits. especially the beat of the chorus. very suave and impactful.all of fort minors beats in every song is damn good.they just have to work on their lyrics. damn great song tho.very nice and straight forward meaning. |

yah, i agree with shotgunkaity.everything about it sounds like an asylum ("the IV and ur hospital bed", "quarrantine wings in a hospital", "anesthetic"...). it sounds like its being told from the point of view of a mental hospital patient (probably the band).
but then again, loveerrr has a good point too. i read somewhere that Ryan wrote this song about his father. but i cant see where that fits in. maybe he was such a lousy father ryan somehow framed him ("this was no accident") to be sent away to a mental hospital to pay for all he had done to him?
waddaya guys think? |
