Crash Test Dummies – Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't think these lyrics are metaphorical at all, and I don't buy the abuse thing. The first two kids are slightly abnormal, and feel vulnerable and alone in their school. But they're glad, because at least they don't have to feel that way at home - like the third kid, who's parents are convinced they're all full of sin.

I think it's about how unimportant people may make you feel like an outsider in you life, but it's so much more tragic when it's your own parents that make you feel that way.

I can't help but think this song is about post traumatic stress disorder.

Faith No More – We Care A Lot Lyrics 18 years ago
Chuck Mosley definitely had a good voice for punk. But I think that was the problem, the rest of the band just wasn't punk, and it didn't really work with many songs other than this one.

Without a doubt my favorite genre in music is punk, but Mike Patton suited Faith No More so much better technically that there's just no comparing Mosley to him. I agree mostly with mykal77, when you hear Patton cover this song you realize how badly he outclassed Mosley even at his own game.

It's a pity Mike Patton changed so much over the years though. There were a couple of good tracks on Peeping Tom, but half the time he tries so hard to be strange that his music ends up lame, and it's annoying to listen to knowing how much talent he has. He's just gone way over the top but I guess that's his schtick now.

As for the meaning of this song, I think it's about people who get caught up in the news and go on a morality rampage to place themselves on a moral high ground, so they feel superiority & self worth.
Or alternatively, I think it could be about apathy in our society.

Queens of the Stone Age – Suture Up Your Future Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is about a point some people reach in their lives where they're so sick of where they've been and who they are that they want to reinvent themselves and bury the past, because it seems impossible to move forward otherwise.

It's depressing but optimistic at the same time. Burying a past of shit, and starting from square one to salvage the remainder of your life, to possibly get something good out of it.

Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is about our nature to deny the inevitable, and how in doing so, we can turn a problem into a catastrophe.
When the situation finally explodes, we panic, and we can't believe our own stupidity.

In Human perception, nothing is quite real until we're there seeing it happen, and it's with this neglect that we dig our graves.

Just my opinion.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – The Weeping Song Lyrics 18 years ago
The meaning of this song I always thought was pretty straightforward. It's about how people hurt those that they love, how life puts us in emotionally painful circumstances, and, well... weeping, and how we move forward regardless.

Personally I feel that musically, this period in time was when Nick was at his best, though I still very much appreciate his later works. It's a shame that Blixa left the Bad Seeds though. He and Nick make a powerful combination.

The Tea Party – The Messenger Lyrics 18 years ago
This is a cover of the original version by Daniel Lanois from his album "For the Beauty of Wynona".
They're paced quite differently, and both versions are excellent. If you like some of the softer stuff The Tea Party does, Daniel Lanois is worth checking out, specifically the aforementioned album.

I don't really know what this song means, though I've thought it over for some time. If anyone could enlighten me, I'd be grateful, it's a long time favourite of mine.
