Panic! at the Disco – Nine In The Afternoon Lyrics 18 years ago
Well, now that the song is available on iTunes, I think a fair judgement is in order. This song sounds little like AFYCSO, more like Sargeant Pepper, but whatev

I think the lyrics are about doing drugs, which explains the overall lofty feel of the song and probably the rest of the album. "A place where thoughts can bloom" and "A room where it's nine in the afternoon" are impossible in the real world, as thoughts do not bloom and nine in the afternoon never occurs. However, in the psychodelic world reached by taking drugs, these impossible events could appear to occur. The repetition of "Feelin so good" adds to this idea of drug-induced psychodelia.

So I think the narrator and his lover are returning to the place where they first had their psychodelic experiences, and are thoroughly enjoying themselves.

This is perhaps not the best song for a first single, but we'll see where the album takes off.

The Legion of Doom – Icarus Underwater Lyrics 18 years ago
The Planet Asia rap is:

My knowledge is supreme, pushing product to the fiends
Picking up is way far than waking up
Out a dream and I'd have see a lot of things,
From walthiness to robery,
Righteousness to proverty,
Now its all to sodomy
Child of the 70's
Born for you cherish me
Degress I drop steady, representing the ebony
Messages through the melodies
Heart beating fast like a cut-close felony,
Cut throats trailing me;
I'm so original that I'm damn near alien
The government issues hopping out bullet-proof Mercedes Benzes
Black mafia
Cover me guard, rap philosophers
Screw face the new faces popping up
My blood line form meteorite to microbe
Unidentified from out the universal freedom cypher, the God
Power rain held snow, my thunder starter,
My mythology is Icarus, underwater

Halifax – Scarlet Letter Part 2 Lyrics 18 years ago
The Scarlet Letter is actually an American romance novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in the 1800s. For anyone who has had the experience (mostlikely misfortune) of reading this book, I think the songs I sung from the point of view of Chillingworth, whose wife cheats on him. Chillingworth seeks hirrible revenge on the man his wife slept with, and in the end almost kills him.

Armor for Sleep – Very Invisible Lyrics 18 years ago
I think saranya wasn't completely off, but from a more poetic perepective, there are parts of the song that saranya may be mistaken on.

Well, since this goes with the theme of What To Do When You Are Dead, we know that the narrator died. The beginning of the song is like a flashback to his relationship with his girlfriend. She seems really clingy and wants to never be away from him, and he seems willing to oblige.

Later she becomes suspicious that he doesn't love her anymore ("you called me out just to see/if I could be real enough/to never take your heart from you") and sentiments turn bad. She probably breaks up with him and doesn't want to tthink about him again, and he kills himself (or dies untimely), and although she wants to forget him ("your trying hard to kill the truth"), she can't because her gult and his ghost are looming over all the time.

She wants him to leave her alone now ("I'll be the voice in the dark/the freezing cold in your heart/that you thought died away with me"), and now he's spiting her by staying. He is also alluding to the promise they made two years before his death, but in an ironic tone because he is trying to show her that he is still keeping his promise even though she broke up with him and was probably annoying. She wants him to leave her alone, but finally she gets her intital wish to have him always with her.

This is definitely one of the high points on the album (the itunes version anyway). I give it a 5/5

Fall Out Boy – Fame < Infamy Lyrics 18 years ago
Did anyone else notice that the guitar riff right before Patrick sings "I'm a preacher..." is t he same one from Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers? It's that part where he says Whoa-oa-oa.

"Signing off, I'm alright in bed but I'm better with a pen."
I think this means that he is okay in bed but his real forte is writing songs.

Socratic – Lunch For The Sky Lyrics 18 years ago
I used to think this song was all socialist but I guess I'm wrong. The line
"They don't know they're paying what is stealing all their food."
seemd a little anti-establishment, and then I always thought it was "Marxist books, with steak knives" because the guy is readign Marxist books and is all ready to revel and whatnot. But then again I guess I'm wrong.

This Providence – Wolf In Sheep's Clothing Lyrics 18 years ago
I think everyone is looking wayyy too deep int othis song.
I think the lead singer is refering to a girl he broke up with and how much he hates her for her meanness.
