Mayday Parade – Save Your Heart Lyrics 16 years ago
.. Such a beautiful song. The girl thinks she's found someone to give her heart to, but he's really not worth her love/time-- not worth dying for.

"And it's love that you want but not love that you make."
This is probably my favorite line in the song. She's hoping to be closer to him emotionally, but she can only get physically closer. She sees it as making love, he just sees it as sex.

Making April – These Are The Nights Lyrics 16 years ago
So divine is this happening
Can't I just graze your skin
For the rest of our time
But time isn't letting this night go on
Till then and there, the wind in your hair
Nothing in this world could keep me from staring at you
And all I need now is for that sun to stay under its glowing horizon for good

I adore this song. It's so straightforward-- it's about love. Pure, incomparable love.
While "Roses and Butterflies" is more about a crush situation, this is truly about having found love... Even though the word "love" isn't found anywhere in the song. It's implied, and it's beautiful.

Farewell – Darling Darlene Lyrics 16 years ago
"what i don't understand about this song is that while he says he loves her, and that he'd die without her, he's gonna save her, blah blah blah... i still get the impression the reason she's drowning is that he pushed her overboard...."

If that's really the case, then it still works as a metaphor.

oh, and chickybaby321:
they're not really repeating themselves.
Alex usually writes the lyrics, but Jack supposedly wrote this one.
Besides-- "deer in the headlights" is a common phrase.

probably like Elton John's "Levon", then..

so.. "Holly, would you turn me on?" sounds a lot like "Hollywood, you turn me on".

I can't tell if it's intentional or not, but it just might work in some weird metaphorical way.

The Academy Is... – Everything We Had Lyrics 18 years ago
I do agree with the concept of both friendships and relationships, but the line "For you I am blinded" makes it seem that it is more toward the latter. It goes with the idea of "sometimes love can leave you blind". However, I suppose that applies to friends as well, not only lovers.
