I haven't actually seen the video, but the song is pretty clear. You said something about a phoenix? Phoenix die in a big ball of fire, then are reborn in all their former glory from the ashes of their corpse. "Keep all the roses I'm not dead", implying people think she's over with, "Go tell the world I'm still around", indicating this as a sort of announcement... see? Yeah, the song is great. |

Actually, I think that "Little Match Girl freezing in the snow" was more specifically a reference to the story by Hans Christian Andersen about one particular match-selling girl who froze to death in the snow. Still, what the previous poster said is right on, in my opinion. |
