this is such a good song. i'm kind of going through this now after ending a really long relationship with my boyfriend and best friend in the whole world. time really doesn't heal everything. and i don't think it ever will. i think what he means when he says "i doubt i'm gonna win you back with eyes like that" is that she has a wandering eye and he's afraid she won't let him back in when he is recovered and ready to try again... she'll have found someone new. |

okay maybe i am WAY off here, but i don't think the song has anything to do with rape, or being pregnant. i think she's singing to someone who cheated on her. "one night to you, lasted six weeks for me" it typically takes weeks and weeks for someone to get over something like that. one night of cheating, six weeks of recovery. usually one will have trouble sleeping so sleeping pills is the only way she can get to sleep. "say hello to hesitance to everyone i meet" after being betrayed, she can't find trust in anyone else. when she talks about her childhood in the rollaway bed, she means when everything was easier and you didn't have to worry about heartbreak or people betraying you. now that she's older she has to experience things like this. i feel like the "i never knew your name" is facecious in the fact that he was such a different person to her face but she obviously didn't know who he really was, if he was capable of doing that to her. its going to take a long time for her to recover and ever be able to love again. ehhh thats just the way i took it though. just a different perspective. :) |
