It's about a guy who's going to kill himself. He makes everything out to bad, and says fuck the world, fuck the future, screw you all. You'll still be trapped in you body, trapped in the world, trapped in this life... and I won't. I'll be dead... free. The 2nd verse makes it feel as though the singer is speaking to a lover (gone bad) more than anything else and that part of his suicidal intentions are to spite that person. |

I think the song is about someone reading a newspaper to pass the time at work. None of the parts are connected, nor are they about the person singing. They're just different stories, acticles and headlines. Here's one about a scandal, here's one about a murder, here's one about a car accident... etc. Saying that "it's probably your wife/girls" means that they belong to someone of course, in some important way... but in there's a detachment from the reader because he's not personally connected at all. |

It's a dream sequence all based around how numbers interpret and shape everything we've accomplished as humans. The first two verses give the dreamer a living math test questions, the chorus tacks numbers and number themes to the dream and society. The bridge ending part is on Fermat's last theorem where he said, "I have a truly marvellous proof of this proposition which this margin is too narrow to contain." The end, the dreamer wakes up and checks his stocks and laughs to himself when he finds that he made money... as represented by a number. |
