| The Beatles – I'm Only Sleeping Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I don't do drugs, yet I understand this song perfectly. To me, it means pretty much what others have said: It's about just slowing down, taking life calmly and not always being in a hurry to get stuff done. Sleeping here can be metaphorical for taking life as it is, stopping to smell the flowers on the way. | |

Notice the little "hah!" he gives after the line "If there's a point, if there's a reason to live or die". To me, that's an indication that he himself thinks the notion is absurd. This is such a powerful song. I think previous posters have adequately summed up its most likely meanings. |

| I agree, Negafen. I think it's a hilarious song, actually, due to the supremely happy tune of it. | |

I always heard it as "You're not so bright- you're telling lies". *grins* |

Love! Simply, love. Which is lovely. |

| Queen – Somebody To Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Tragic, but optimistic. The meaning is clear, and conveyed with such breathtaking passion that I get shivers each time I listen to it. Simply brilliant. The part at "But everybody wants to put me down-" especially, stirs up emotions deep within me. This is one of my favorite songs by far. I can't relate personally to this song, being only sixteen years old and not thinking much of relationships yet. Funnily enough, though, it reminds me of a role-playing character of mine. |

| Queen – Thank God It's Christmas Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Of course! "Oh, my friends. We have the strangest ways." That's clearly a reference to homosexuality. His "friends", being his male lovers. I jest, I jest. My apologies. The meaning in this song is simple; it's been a long, difficult year, and now: Christmas, the time of relaxation! Excellent! Merry Christmas. |

| Queen – Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy Lyrics | 18 years ago |

"This song is from TWO points of view, both of whom are referred to as "loverboy". Which part is which is left ambiguous." I see only one side being referred to as "loverboy". The person being charmed can be either male or female, but it doesn't really matter. Nowhere in the song is evidence which it is, so stating it as a fact is absurd. I see this song as a description of a charming young man, dressed in fine clothes, proper of manner and conduct. He is being addressed as lover boy in jest, perhaps, because of his romantic manner. Overall, it's an excellent song describing a romantic individual, who strives for perfection in the ways of dealing with females (or males, if you interpret it that way). |

| Queen – Don't Stop Me Now Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Personally, I feel this song is about love. The type you get infected by at a young age, which raises your spirits and makes you feel excellent and invincible. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this, I guess most people are too confined within their homophobia. This song is just so damn happy, and every part of it reminds me of wild love (note: not sex). Perhaps, some have forgotten the feeling of having someone in their life that makes them feel good by just thinking of them. Or perhaps, some have never had that feeling before, but I doubt it. ~ Eschar |
