I just kind of assumed that when she said "I go back to black" it meant that she went back to mourning his loss. Like, at funerals, everyone wears black because they are sad, and it's just sort of something you do when you lose someone. So she goes back to black in that sense. |

This song is pretty amazing. He played it in Noblesville on August 18th and there's also a really good recording of it on the Live At Radio City CD with Tim Reynolds except it's titled "Eh Hee." But no matter what the title is, it's definitely one of my new favorites. |

I can relate to this song a lot. I had a friend with benefits, and we both said we wouldn't get emotionally attached. But we did (of course). And I wasn't "overly concerned with the status of my emotions" as long as I had him. That's all that mattered. It didn't "bother me to say this isn't love." But it did bother us both deep down because we had feelings for each other. Anyway, it got complicated and we stopped. I never slept over anymore, and I still "don't get no sleep in a quiet room" by myself. Clearly, we weren't ready for this sort of thing. When I listen to this song it makes me feel like other people have made the same decisions that I have made and are dealing with the consequences. |
