Led Zeppelin – The Rain Song Lyrics 18 years ago
no one could ever redo or recreate anything so beautiful as led zeppelin did here... i love this song... these lyrics are incredible with so much meaning and depth.... too bad nothing in the past 30 years has been this moving... but you just have to realize that the time will never come again when rock and roll was what everyone listened to.... now its stupid punk emo shit or degrading no talent sound of rap.... pretty lame if you say those kinds of bands are your favorite.... but anyway this song is phenomenal and it takes me to a place where everything is ok....

Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics 18 years ago
"I am a traveler of both time and space"... anyone who doubts any of led zeppelins work should be hunted down by an angry mob and pitchforked! they are extrodinary beyond all possible reasoning.... a band of all time for those who seek out to be unique... kashmir is in a league of its own when it comes to extrodinary guitar rifts and classic tales of epic challenges.... ITS UNEXPLAINABLE!!

Led Zeppelin – Ten Years Gone Lyrics 18 years ago
every song ever written by led zeppelin has so much depth and actual meaning unlike many mainstream songs of today.... this song is amazing, with a sense of remembrance and taking a look in to the past with a "what if" state of mind.... plant is a genius, page is incredible in all aspects... you will not find any other teen of this generation that loves them as much as i do..

Simon and Garfunkel – America Lyrics 18 years ago
I completely agree nuttinbutnate... i mean it is my biggest pet peeve when I see everyone running around with any bands from that era and saying that they love them, best band ever, etc. etc. its quite annoying and is ruining the meaning of that time period, i myself am a teen growing up in this present generation, although i have a deeper more prefound definition of numerous singers and songwriters of this time other than just the well noted beatles, I admit I do like some of the beatles work, but ask any normal teen in my generation what their favorite beatles song would be, theyd probally say either yellow submarine hey jude or all you need is love, but in return my favorite has to be girl, anyway i agree about your statemen about paul simon being a greater lyricists than most any beatles songs, they were commercial, and the ones that were not like simon and garfunkel, bob dylan, led zeppelin etc.... that really created the voice of the generation are the ones I respect the most... thats my two cents

Kenny Chesney – There Goes My Life Lyrics 18 years ago
basically, i really dont like country music at all, used to but now im more down for good old classic rock.. anyway thats beside the point... i am going to admit i really like this song and it makes me cry, because it holds so much sentimental value for me, you see my mom was 17 when she had me my dad 19, typical story my mom was captain of the cheerleading team straight a student, my dad a rebel without a cause trying to find his way in life, they both could have given up on having a life and giving me one, but they didnt especially my dad he had a scholarship and everything, but he stayed because he loved me and my mom so much.... this is an amazing song for anyone that has gone through any young parenting expierience, and for all who say this doesnt happen in reality .... well it did for my family, im 17 and im going to be a senior this upcoming school year, and it is going to be difficult for both me and my parents when I pack up my little toyota camry and go start my own life...

The Mamas & the Papas – California Dreamin' Lyrics 18 years ago
alot of people are looking into this way more than needed... for example thinking this was about vietnam, religion, or just a hippie song.... this song is what it is... no underlying motives just a simple melody about missing california.... actually its about how all 4 of the singer/songwriters of the mama's and the papa's were living in NY along with many other musicians at the time because new york was the place to be at the time..... well the 4 of them took a vacation, came back and all of their friends and musicians were in california now and they were stuck clear across the country, so they were california dreamin..... so theres that, it is what it is don't look to deeply into any of the mama's and the papas songs they are not too deep like say the doors, led zeppelin jefferson airplane etc.

Jefferson Airplane – Martha Lyrics 18 years ago
not given enough credit for jefferson airplanes work.... overlooked in alot of ways... the poetry in this song is simply amazing.... --- best part.... " she keeps her heart in a broken clock and its waiting there for me, she weeds apart through a token lock what a great thing to be free" i love this time in rock and roll history... pschycadelic rock and even any type of rock through the 60's-70's brought a new meaning to life and a world where revolutionary poetry and music came together :o) Love it!

The Rolling Stones – Mother's Little Helper Lyrics 18 years ago
definetly about popping valium.... with all the pressures mothers have to go through it was obvious they needed to cling onto something to get them through the day.... this is probally written about an expierience one of the stones went through or knew about... during the time when women had hardly any rights in the world and were expected to be a happy go lucky housewife in the 50's.... they turned to valium to help them cope

Buffalo Springfield – For What It's Worth Lyrics 18 years ago
this song is the greatest protest song ever written... it depicts the feelings of the youth generation of this time and really makes you think... i envy the youth generation of the 60's and 70's if there was such a thing as a time machine.. there is no doubt i would choose to be a teen in that era... im 17 years old and all i listen to is classic rock its a wierd thing bc i was not introduced to it by anyone.. my parents grew up on 80's rock and grandparents hit the era right b4 the counterculture revolution... i hate the youth generation we live in now.. no one stands up for anything... right now the war over in the middle east is going on.... basically a repeat of what happend in vietnam.. and what does my generation do? sit around and just let things happen and let the government say and do what they please... the youth generation of the 60's were the spokespeople of anti war... and it baffles me why more younger people are standing up and protesting this barbaric war... we need to unite instead of seperating... but yet the 60's will never happen again and i am so sad that i was not allowed the opportunity to be a teen in that period of time... our generation sits back and does not stand for anything... raged

Bob Dylan – Girl from the North Country Lyrics 18 years ago
Dylan is absolutely the greatest song writer or all time... his lyrics are simply unbelievable and explain so much.. I love how unique he was and the fact that he was not in the entertainment world to be famous but to show his art and talent... anyways i believe this song was written about a old love when he was in his younger years and once he moved away they had no contact, like all lost loves.. you still think about them time to time and this is just a reminicince of a time when he was young and in love with an interesting girl, this is by far my favorite song of dylans because it is not as well noted as blowin in the wind and times they are a changing and really is one of the greatest songs of lost love i have every heard... there are many copy cats and wanna bes of dylan but he is an original that will never ever be copied.. its impossible

Plain White T's – Hey There Delilah Lyrics 18 years ago
this song is intensely moving... although at one point i loved it for one reason.. bc i was in "like" with a musician.... but now we are slowly drifting apart... hmm... those poetic musicians are always the ones that get me.... this song is so simple yet explains so many complex things.... one day i hope someone writes me a song as beautiful as this for me... im a sucker for musicians :o( the line "I know times are getting hard but just believe me girl someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar, we'll have it good We'll have the life we knew we would My word is good" is so cute and reminds me that even if you dont have money... if you have someone that loves you with every part of their heart... then there is nothing more thats needed... love sucks... :o(

Simon and Garfunkel – America Lyrics 18 years ago
Since this song was written during the revolution of the youth generation of the 60's i believe it is about a teens journey to find life in the corrupted society of "America" and how you can not trust people because they always have alternative motives... this is by far my favorite simon and garfunkel song and depicts a life i wish to lead when i graduate high school... just to find a way out of generlizations and find myself somewhere in "America" this song is so harmonizing and peaceful and really makes you think about life.. amazing

Led Zeppelin – Going to California Lyrics 18 years ago
Personally, this song means alot to me and the lyrics "with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair" explains a time of peaceful satisfaction for myself.. im even considering getting that part tattooed on my the back of my shoulder, but This song was inspired by Joni Mitchell's "California." Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were huge fans of hers. When performed live, after the lines "To find the queen without a king they say she plays guitar and cries and sings," Jimmy would often say the name "Joni." its meant to depict the fact that for love you must be willing to take chances, it is simply so poetic and filled with positive emotions that sends me to a happier place when I hear it.. led zeppelin is amazing... enough said
