wow..definataly a tough song to interpret. ok here it goes i think that cecillia has just told johnny everything that has happend between her and her father and has suggested that they run away. johnny however doesnt want to and suggests that they take care of things properly and wait it out. "When who's to blame, In a matter of fact I might, Purely suggest we tell the truth, From here on out we walk the straight... afraid, What will they do should we weather this new reply? Patiently wait your proper end, but also i know that someone does die in this song so there is obviously a reference to the brothers in here that im not catching purly based of the last line "Is this the way you watch the body die?" |

| ok i think that this song is when butchie is forced to kill cecillia who he loves "but if i could just take it back you know i would" and he wants his mother dead because she was the one that got him and long-arm into the race for death. but i would like to know because there are many references to "the telephone" if it serves a greater purpose than i know. | |

ok im not a major authority on the story and its only recently that ive begun to delv into it, but i think that in the song when it speaks of "your boy" thats an obviouse refrence to johnny and i beleive that there is a conversation going on between cecillia and johnnys mother about johnny going with cecillia. |
