| Crossfade – Invincible Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| ok, i agree, it's an awesome song, and it's about someone finding someone who just turns his life upside down, but i have a dumb question....what exactly is he memorizing the words to? :P | |
| Five for Fighting – '65 Mustang Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I totally agree with Antigravity...a car that was in the family can have a lot of memories. Besides, Mustangs, and other cars of time....just reflect that time, they were built different, and are just so much simpler. it's just you, the car, and the road. Cars can have personalities of thereselves sometimes....(My dad has a '68 Coupe, and a '69 Mach 1, so i have a lot of memories from these cars) this song also has a catchy tune. I love it :) | |
| Semisonic – Closing Time Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| also, i should say....you people who think its just about a bar are obviously not paying attention to the lines of the song ..."every new beginning comes from another beginning's end".......and for you people who think its not about a bar, alot of times "closing time" is known as "last call" as in the line "one last call for alcohol, so finish up your whiskey or beer" and one of the famous lines about a bar, or at least a known one is "you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here" which also plays into the graduation metaphor. So yes it's about a bar, but not just about a bar....it's closing time at a bar being metaphoric for graduation. | |
| Semisonic – Closing Time Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
ok, this part i KNOW (like some of you have said) is about a bar. It's not exactly about a bar owner getting rid of everyone because he doesn't like them, its just like (2/3am?) they shut down the bars cus they can't sell alcohol past then or something, the point is, its "closing time" at the bar. I also agree that it probably has a metaphoric meaning for graduation and not being an irresponsible kid anymore becuase of the lines.... Closing time - time for you to go back to the places you will be from. Closing time - this room won't be open 'til your brothers or you sisters come. So gather up your jackets, and move it to the exits - I hope you have found a friend. Closing time - every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. especially if you think about it, graduation is the end of the beginning of your life. the only part of this song is the choras verse of "i know who i want to take me home" because it doesn't seem to make sense in the situation, help? |

| Elton John – Candle In The Wind '97 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| some of you people obviously don't know very much about who Princess Diana or John Elton were/are. Yes, the original is a very very good song about an amazing woman who was pressured by many people around her, and who died far before her time. Diana probably liked that song very much because she felt somewhat similar to Marylin Monroe. Elton John wasn't being cheap in any way. If you listen to the song, you can feel his emotion, for the death of a very close friend of his. He took a song that she liked and was somewhat similar to her life, and rewrote it for her. It was a tribute to her. Why would he write a new song to make money? Yes, we still have landmines in the world and AIDS but she helped tremendously with that and so much more. Some of your comments are very inmature, because i doubt you would be thinking the same thing if you had been in her position. | |
| Hawk Nelson – Head On Collision Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i don't really understand the verse about the girl either.... i really like the overall meaning of this song, i think its pretty much summarized in that one line... "we’ll never take this world unless we make a head on collision a head on collision" i like the word plays in the first verse. "He was a dreamer but he had never had none. Who made the most of his life but never had one." |

| Hawk Nelson – Zero Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| You pop in the HN cd and you get all these awesome songs, but most of them are somwhat pop/punkish, normal Hawk Nelson, and a little bit like everyone else, and then you hear this, and you go "whoa" that really sets them apart. any band can do a song with a cool beat, and make it good, but not many bands can take a subject like this and make it into a GOOD piece of music. it takes dedication and soul in the song, and they do that here, great song :) | |
| Hawk Nelson – It's Over Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| wether he cheated on her or not, it sounds like, he ended it and then realized what he did and tried to get back with her (explaining the line "i left her, she hates me") and she won't take him back, telling him that it's over for good, thats where he gets the "she's telling me we're done" part. that's my thoughts at least. | |
| Hawk Nelson – Hello Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| also.... i just looked up the lyrics on three or four other sites, and though you can't really tell in the song, i think the lyric is "sometimes you PLAGUE my mind a million times" | |
| Hawk Nelson – Hello Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i totally love this song. it has awesome rythems, and the harmonizing is unique and wonderful. how many songs do you know that could pull off like two measures of randomn kazoo playing, and make it sound good! lol | |
| Hawk Nelson – Bring Em Out Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i do agree, this is a very dancy song, and has AWESOME harmonizing. Um, also, upon furthur listening to the song and looking at other places on the net, i'm pretty sure the lyrics are "Katie, I don't know why I even try" instead of "okay" because he also says a couple lines down "pretty baby" and its pretty obvious he's talkin about a girl in part of the song. just thought i'd throw that out there. |
