The song is a message from a man who sees the bleakness in the world around him, and wants to tell his mom that though things don't seem right it is our love and compassion that makes it worth it. It is very obvious when he gets to the end and talks about the dog, because the pups represent innocent life, and the fleas represent the parasites sucking thier life away as soon as they were born |
