I agree V_C, the the insrumental part of this song is so strong that it couldbe a song on it's own. Adding lyrics just makes it better. Going back to the whole meaning thing, if you add the whole Christianity thing to it this is what I got. I think maybe he's comparing himself to Jesus, but the fact that he knows he doesn't fully believe leaves him confused as to whther or not he will be accepted. (Where are you? What do you...) "Oh man, I can't believe that you did what they said you did " In regards to the cruxcifiction. "And to this day I've still gotta say that in my mind I question it " If he was given the choice, he wouldn't've died. At the end he realizes that he doesn't get in and he goes to hell "I hear the din of the screams, sorrow in streams the smell of farewell and gasoline I see a heart set free and my legacy hear a voice from a shadow that is beckoning me" ------------------------------------------------------------ Or in support of the athiests over here (including myself) the song is about the military "Live a life in hell through a mortal shell asphyxiating smell" "I see the darkness surround the shape on the ground the killer straight up and a body face down " He gets killed "And now I feel what you felt inside brother" And feels that: "This isn't worth it, It isn't worth it " Therefore i a way he goes out and gets himself killed because of all of the horror the's seen "I hear the din of the screams, sorrow in streams the smell of farewell and gasoline" He wants it to end. Just another way at looking at it. |
