this whole cd is heavily influenced by St. Francis of Assisi's Canticle of Brother Sun Sister Moon. If you read it, it's really easy to see, and pretty cool. The canticle was a letter to one of Francis' friends who was going through a hard time and basically it praises nature and all God made. A lot of Francis' stuff comes from Daniel and Psalms. Pretty interesting!
I think this song totally supports this and I think it's awesome mwY has such a high respect for nature. |

duzeus, i know sometimes songs are just what the writer says they are about. mabe this one is, and maybe it's not, but you don't need to be upset just because someone wants to toss up a very plausible idea. most of sufjan's songs have double meanings to them, for example:concerning the UFO sighting, it has two meanings, a physical and a spiritual. please realize that sufjan is a religious and spiritual individual, so that has an effct on his lyric writing. even if you aren't religious, the songs you listen to can be. cut lap1021 break. |

the Valley of Genessaret is also along the Sea of Galilee and it was where Jesus gave His sermon on the mount. maybe that has something to do with it too. not too sure.
i love te line "i want to skip like a stone from a stronger arm," it's very cool to know that G-d is that stronger arm; at least that's what i think anathallo is saying. |
