Blur – Song 2 Lyrics 18 years ago
I would like to apologize for the guy who called Blur a one-hit wonder...when he finds this page again (if ever) he's going to be very surprised at how many people want him to die in agony.

Avenue Q – The Internet Is For Porn Lyrics 18 years ago
Aye, they speak the truth. It reminds me of that scandal with Bell letting people download porn on their cellphones (for money). The Church complained. Sad but true - the internet may be a wonderful, revolutionary invention, but porn is the first thing it's used for. If we could get virtual blow jobs we'd be lining up for that too. And every time it gets better, it gets better - for porn.

Malajube – Montréal -40 Lyrics 18 years ago
There's something that comes between the last "et je t'aime tellement que j'hallucine" and "Le chat ronfle" but I can't make it out at all. Not that I know any French.

To take a stab at the song's meaning...it appears to be about Montreal. :P Which seems to be a rather cold and awful place but not without its charms if you've lived there long enough, I guess.

Very, very catchy. Makes me want to learn French to sing along. Best thing on the album!

Gogol Bordello – Start Wearing Purple Lyrics 18 years ago
It should be 'nam karetu' from what I can hear...

He's making fun of his own accent...hilarious. I wish I could get my accent back.

Stars – One More Night Lyrics 18 years ago
If you accept that this song is a sequel to "Your Ex-Lover Is Dead", the lyrics could be interpreted as the couple trying to get back together, despite knowing that it won't work and will ruin their other relationships.

"Take me like that, ruin it all
Then build it again, by the light in the hall"

Stars – Set Yourself on Fire Lyrics 18 years ago
I'm siding with SuntoryTime... it sounds to me like '20 years alseep' is about middle age and how it affects people, makes them slow down. And I agree that the 'only one thing' in this song is death. The first stanzas are about the world and all the different places in it, but everything will eventually end and death is the only certain thing.

Cursive – Staying Alive Lyrics 18 years ago
When I had bad days I used to turn this up and just loop it. It makes me teary most times I hear it. It really makes me feel worse...but it also makes me feel better.

Doot doot doot doot...the worst is over

Cursive – Harold Weathervein Lyrics 18 years ago
"In bar rooms he sits all alone
Erupting"

It's like he gets drunk and has something to say but no one's listening.

I really have no clue what this song is about. It always makes me think of a middle-aged guy who's all confused and half crazy, how he wanders the town and prophesies the end of the world, but people just ignore him. The cello is really killer in this one. It starts off sounding just like the weather. Deep blue sky, clouds shifting, a hint of storm.

Cursive – A Gentleman Caller Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree with stupid name. The meaning of this song is pretty plain (and I don't think you need to dig too deep for most of Cursive's songs). The girl finds out her guy is cheating on her and is pressed to have an affair of her own.

"Whatever you need to make you feel
Like you've been the one behind the wheel" - she wants to think that she's been in control but really the second guy just used her.

I love the ending. Doot doot doot doot...all of the songs on this album blend together, it's crazy.
