my favorite FOB song. To me its about the gov't controlling everything. "We're the therapists pumping through your speakers"- They are telling you what to do and what to say. "No matter what they say, don't believe a word"-how we dont know who, or what to believe. The media, the internet, the goverment. There are many sources, and we dont know which are credible, and which are not. "We're the kids you used to love But then we grew old"- sort of a pattern throughout time. Right after 911 we were gung-ho about the war, and now, because it isnt going our way, we want to get out of it. This also occured in the Medieval, Dark, Reniassance, Elizabethian, and Post/Pre War times. "There’s a drug in the thermostat to warm the room up And another around to help us bend your trust"- pretty obvious. How the gov't tricks su to get its way. "The best part of "Believe" is the "Lie,"" - again, spells itself out. And the last line "So give in or just give up" sums it all up pretty well. I could be totally off, but that is how i saw it. :] |

| when i first heard this, i cried. My grandpa had just died, and i was off to a school retreat. We wernt allowed to have music, and i wanted to listen to this song so badly, because it really touched me. It is a bittersweet song. | |

This song is written masterfully. The lyrics are absolutly beautiful. The piano, with the drum rolls and guitar flow together so well with the lyrics. And his voice is the so pretty. This is truly a work of art. I totally agree w. Insightless. and yea, i also got a religious message from this, as explained above. |
