well i love this song but you have to take the lyrics reallly metaphorically. vanilla ice cream thighs i think is symbolic of sweet innocence but thighs are also a sex icon. but max always says that he writes the songs to be painfully akward. well- mission accomplished boys. |

i agree with everyone above me, esp. CBrownie. but i think i have a slightly different perspective. i feel like this song discribes the frustration they experienced while trying to create new songs while touring. that was the initial feeling i got from it anyway. i love how they utilize the electonics to make a kind of robotic, rash effect. very thought provokeing. |

| Everybody Else – Meat Market Lyrics | 18 years ago |

the beginning of this songs guitar is sort of the cure-esque. no? well Carrick Gearty graduated with a degree in woman's studies & thats definatly contributes to this song, i think he wants to protect his little sister or naive friends [who are girls] from the crazy guys in the world who want to use them. its like Johnathon Swift's A Modest Preposal. its an ironic perspective he takes playing the opposite role. i personally love the more mature songs of Everybody Else, they arent ridden with teen angst, its a breath of air. |

| Heather Nova – Blue Black Lyrics | 18 years ago |

i wonder how old she was when she wrote this song because the virgin references, and this is EXACTLY how i felt when i was used & lost my viginity at 15. this souns like she wrote it in her teens to me. it has that secret, angsty, resiliance to me. |

| Heather Nova – Sugar Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
ah hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! every word in this song is expressed with exact intention and expression. the sucking up to his father, the little perfect pancakes - the metaphor thats shes not perfect & symetrical. its just so real. uhm idk larojas. i have this album & its definatly called Sugar & i dont think cuckroach melds with "when the morning comes, where will i go?" because the cock, or rooster, crows in the morning as a rude awakening. she doesnt know where to go to who to run to when the cock cries the blunt crow. |

oyster is so pure and unadulterated. its like perfet discriptions of various moods. this song means inspriation & youth & freedom & want & need and yet she's almost aware of her naivity. |

| Say Anything – A Walk Through Hell Lyrics | 18 years ago |

ohh DrinkupGorgeous could be on the right line for sure. i always thought that, well obviously hes in love with a girl of whom he would do absolutly anything for, & they were going fine along fine but she fell into a the "perfect" trance. maybe she was discovered & became a model, developed an eating disorder etcetc and she just was on a downward slope. i.e lines "heavin' sunken chest", "the model for their empty little dreams, with your new head and your legs spread like a filthy magazine, and they hunt you and they gut you and you give in". you know. i dont know, maybe not. because of the fact that i do have an eating disorder, i seem to find that meaning in absolutly everything. opinions? |

| Fiona Apple – Paper Bag Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Fiona Apple was raped & she developed an eating disorder (im 99% percent sure). i have an eating disorder & im nearly positive that this is wht this song is about. you want it so bad but it kills you. |

| Mika – Grace Kelly Lyrics | 18 years ago |

this song actually has a really cool meaning Mika wrote this when he wasnt getting signed and he wanted more than anything (natuarlly) to get a label. he is singing all the things the record labels told him to do (and not do) in this song. ironically, a year later he was signed because of this song. i love mika |

| Blackpool Lights – It's Never What It's About Lyrics | 18 years ago |

"Are we having fun with a loaded gun Cause that's what we're doing" all of blackpool light's songs are lyrically perfect. the meaning is obvious without being annoyingly blatent. give em' a listen. |
