| Metallica – Enter Sandman Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
sonrisa, you might be the dumbest fucking person alive because that's not even close to what the song is about. James Hetfield himself said that "Sandman" is the name he gave to his dirty ass hole when he was 8 years old and that "Enter Sandman" was what he used to shout when his father slid his slimy warty dick up his hole. He wrote this song in remembrance of all the good times he had as a kid, but now his asshole is so loose from threesomes with Lars and Kirk that he doesn't get any joy out of people Entering his Sandman. I heard that the last time someone was forced to have rough anal sex with him that his father's rotting 40 year old "Sand" finally fell out of his asshole and landed all over Rob Trujillo (that's why he joined the band) so now they refer to him as Sandman too. I can't believe you didn't know that. |

| Nirvana – Come As You Are Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| intangible511, you're a fucking retard. I shot heroine up my hairy asshole three times in one hour and I loved it, but I've never done it again. It's not addicting, Kurt Cobain was just a weak faggot who shot heroine into his veins because it made him hallucinate and see big throbbing, veiny penises floating around his mouth. Kurt Cobain really needed to get a 20 foot length of rope shoved entirely up his asshole and then pulled out of his chest with his lungs and kidney attached to it. I wish somebody did that and gave the rope to me because I would lick it clean like I do to my 84 year old grandfather after he uses the bathroom. | |
| Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| You're all retarded if you think this is an original Nirvana song. Wierd Al Yankovic wrote this song and Kurt Cocaine ripped it off and said it was his own. I wish I could rip off his dick and say that it was my own. | |
| The Beatles – Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is OBVIOUSLY about LSD. Sir Paul McCartney himself told me that it is, and anyone who says otherwise is mentally retarded and needs to be forcefully raped by an entire homeless shelter. | |
| Alice in Chains – A Looking in View Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Really cool song | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – A Song For The Dead Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This is one of my favorite QOTSA songs. The drum licks are sweet (and not original, I know), the riffing in the first minute or so is great, Lanegan's singing is great, and the whole song is just badass. On the top, it seems like a guy who's gonna drive his car off the road and kill himself and whoever else is in it, but it's probably got a deeper meaning than that. Or not. Who knows. |
|
| Brokencyde – Bree Bree Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song means that you all need a big, fat, veiny, throbbing dick in your mouth for even thinking about calling this shit music. | |
| Soundgarden – 4th of July Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I really like this song, and I felt like it was my duty to post something on its page today. There you go. | |
| Steely Dan – Reelin' In The Years Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
^ I've never heard that one, but that's pretty interesting if it's true. One of my all-time favorite songs, the solos, the lyrics, the vocals, the chorus, everything about this song reeks of perfection. Nothing at all can be said bad about this song. It's not some 10-minute masterpiece like most of my favorites, but it's just so flawlessly played and enjoyable that I just can't help but get a hard on every time I hear it. OK, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but it's a damn good song! |
|
| Queens of the Stone Age – Better Living Through Chemistry Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
You know, now that I listen to Auto Pilot and this song one after the other on my iPod, Auto Pilot DOES segue into this song. The background noise at the end of Auto Pilot continues on into the first few seconds of this song without a gap in between. I honestly think that this song would have been, for lack of a better term, EPIC if it was combined with Auto Pilot, which is what I initially thought. They're amazing on their own, but even better together. It's more rewarding when you get to the end of BLTC (and the solo part) if you view them as one song. I don't know, just my opinion. |
|
| 40 Below Summer – self medicate Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Damn man, as much as I dislike nu-metal, I really dig this song. | |
| Supertramp – Bloody Well Right Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think this song is about people who are bloody well right and have got a bloody right to say. | |
| Badfinger – Come and Get It Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I love this shit | |
| Opeth – Closure Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The part of the song where the build-up is at it's peak and you think it's about to climax...and then it goes back to quiet acoustic guitar again gets me every time. | |
| Opeth – Ending Credits Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song's beautiful, why the lack of comments? | |
| Nirvana – Moist Vagina Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's cunnilingus...but with the anus. | |
| Nirvana – Moist Vagina Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Holy fuck, it's called Moist Vagina, end of story. | |
| Steel Panther – Death To All But Metal Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is absolutely hilarious! Better yet, this is probably the only joke song I've ever heard that's actually enjoyable to listen to regardless of the lyrical content. It's actually a decent song! It's obviously about how every other genre of music sucks and metal is the best. One cool thing about this song is that right after the Def Leppard/Motley Crue pre-chorus part, they play one of the riffs from Metallica's Seek & Destroy (plus it kind of sounds like they're playing the main riff from Sweet Child O' Mine during the pre-chorus). |
|
| Kreator – Hordes of Chaos (A Necrologue for the Elite) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I love the intro to this song, and the rest is pretty cool, too, but it is quite different from the old Kreator we all knew and loved. As for the meanings, it's basically about the world being in a state of complete and utter chaos. Everyone rioting and killing one another, kind of like an apocalypse brought about by humans. |
|
| Uriah Heep – Stealin' Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Great band, great song. Definitely about someone who sort of took the easy way out in life all along and is just now feeling the repercussions. | |
| Sinead O'Connor – Nothing Compares to You (Prince cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Possibly the worst song I've ever heard. Every time I hear her say "nothing compares...to you" in that fucking whiny voice I just want to punch a newborn child in the face. | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – Better Living Through Chemistry Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Holy crap, for the longest time I always thought Auto Pilot and this song were one song. When I finally got around to ripping the album onto my computer, I realized that they were two different songs. Despite the fact that they sound so different, they've always seemed to fit together perfectly to me. Either way, it's clearly about drugs. |
|
| Queens of the Stone Age – Lightning Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is a really neat song, why has nobody commented on it? | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – Auto Pilot Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Incredible song, Josh Homme can do no wrong. Most likely about drugs. | |
| Red Rider – Lunatic Fringe Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Really cool song, no idea about the meaning though. | |
| Focus – Hocus Pocus Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think this song holds the secret as to the real meaning of life. | |
| Triumph – Lay it on the Line Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Triumph was a pretty good band, but this is by far their best song. Not sure why, but the guitar solo in this song has always been one of my favorites. It's a pretty basic solo, but it fits the mood and the emotions of the song so perfectly that it makes me all tingly every time I hear it. As for the meaning, it's pretty self-explanitory. Do yourself a favor and listen to this song and find out on your own. |
|
| Sonata Arctica – Full Moon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I love this song! The vocals are beautiful and yes, it's definitely about the whole werewolf thing that others have already mentioned. I've never really understood this one line, though..."she should not lock the open door". What purpose would it serve anyone to lock an OPEN door? Perhaps something was lost in translation when this part was written as English isn't the SA members first language (or so I assume)? Or maybe it's metaphorical and I'm just not getting it? Because, if taken literally, that line is kind of absurd. |
|
| Sonata Arctica – Fade to Black (Metallica cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Probably the best Fade To Black cover I've heard, but that's still not saying much. Not that I'm insulting SA; I'm not. I love this band. But nobody, and I mean NOBODY, will EVER be able to even come close to half as incredible as the original version of this song. Fade To Black is, by far, one of (if not) THE greatest musical compositions written in the past century (yes, century). No song conveys a feeling or emotion better than the original Fade To Black conveys the feeling of hopelessness. I'm sorry if I'm a bit biased, as it's my favorite song, but anyone whose ever felt even a tad bit depressed or hopeless before will instantly be able to relate to this song. The vocals, the lyrics, the lead and rhythm guitars, the chorus, the solos (intro and outro), the drumming, the entire mood of the song is that of complete and utter despair. And while Sonata Arctica's cover is one of the better ones I've heard (and I've heard quite a few), it'll never be on the level of the original. Very few songs ever will. |
|
| Sonata Arctica – Caleb Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is a great song, and I'm surprised that it's not higher up on SA's list of songs. | |
| Children of Bodom – Blooddrunk Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I never thought I'd get into Children of Bodom, but I really enjoy this song. | |
| Ten Years After – I'd Love to Change the World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
You know, I've always just involuntarily assumed that the "tax the rich, feed the poor, til there are no rich no more" line was mocking the tax system, but now that I read some of your comments and look over the lyrics again, I'm not so certain any more. It had never occurred to me that the narrator might be saying this seriously and might actually support taxing the rich and feeding the poor til there are no rich no more, but it very well could be taken that way. Does anybody have any proof on which way this song is leaning, because it really can be interpreted either way and now I'm interested as to what the actual standpoint was. |
|
| Derdian – Eternal Light Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Sweet song | |
| Alan Jackson – Summertime Blues Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| You are wrong. Eddie Cochran does the original, Blue Cheer does the best version (and possibly the most famous?). | |
| Blue Cheer – Summertime Blues Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Cool song, and Blue Cheer is an extremely influential band. It's a travesty that they have only ONE song posted, and two comments (now three) on it. | |
| Deep Purple – Child In Time Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Easily one of the greatest songs ever written. The solo and Gillan's vocals send chills down my spine every time I hear them. The whole thing is amazing, though. Plus, if you enjoy the organ intro/outro, then you should check out the song Bombay Calling by It's A Beautiful Day since that's where they borrowed it from. It's a cool song too, nowhere near as good as this one, but still pretty interesting. Either way, this song is godly. |
|
| Black Sabbath – Snowblind Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Amazing song, one of my favorite Sabbath tunes. And SoaD's cover can suck it because the original is a million times better than the cover (or any song that SoaD has ever put out). Anyone who says otherwise is retarded. |
|
| Children of Bodom – Every Time I Die Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Yes, especially the line "I cannot take it no more." It's so beatifully written and so well-thought-out.. | |
| Orgy – Blue Monday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Best cover song I've ever heard | |
| Megadeth – Holy Wars... The Punishment Due Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Best fuckin' Megadeth song EVER | |
| Funkadelic – Jimmy's Got A Little Bit Of Bitch In Him Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's about a guy with a tiny penis, I believe. | |
| Funkadelic – Wars Of Armageddon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| But oh so funky | |
| Probot – Shake Your Blood Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Yeah, but don't forget Lemmy's infamous words: "I don't wanna live forever!" |
|
| Billy Squier – In The Dark Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Billy Squier is criminally underrated and this is my personal favorite out of all of his music. This really is a great song both musically and lyrically, just like meaningmasta said. It gets me literally every time I listen to it and it NEVER gets old. Seriously, Billy Squier is possibly THE most underrated musician of all time. Listening to this and plenty of other songs, it boggles my mind that he never hit it way bigger than he did. Sure, I wouldn't expect him to be ranked up there with bands like Led Zeppelin but I think he at least deserves to be as popular as bands like Def Leppard or Motley Crue, as he's honestly a much better artist than either of them. |
|
| Jerry Cantrell – Cut You In Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Cool song, and it's pretty obvious that it's about using drugs. C'mon people, he mentions isolating himself at his home all day and "making a trip" and countless other drug references. The only part I'm still stuck on is the middle verse, because there it seems like he really is talking to an actual person but that wouldn't seem to fit the rest of the song. | |
| Alice in Chains – I Know Somethin' ('bout You) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think this song might be more akin to the type of music they played as Diamond Lie...glam metal. Not that this song is really glam metal, but it sounds a lot more like it than any of their other stuff. Still a sweet song though, and I really do get a kick out of that riff. | |
| schiano test test – 1 wefwefwef Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Nine | |
| Exodus – Deathamphetamine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Why the HELL does this song have only 6 comments? I'm not even a huge metal fan (pretty much just Metallica and Sabbath for me) but this is one of my favorite songs and seriously one of the greatest songs written in the past 15 years. And it has 6 comments. Oh but Green Day's new (s)hit single Know Your Enemy already has 10 times as many comments and it's been out for mere weeks. I weep for the future state of music, I really do. |

| Motörhead – Fuck Metallica (Enter Sandman) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Was there a DDSO convention on this page, or is it just coincidence that there were so many retards posting on it? Yes, Motorhead was before Metallica and they were a huge influence on them, but they are in NO way a better band than Metallica and anyone who says otherwise has no knowledge of music, whatsoever. Motorhead had one great song, Ace of Spades, and a bunch of mediocre ones. Metallica, on the other hand, has written songs on levels musically, technically, and emotionally that Motorhead could never even dream of. What it seems to me is that everyone here is just a bunch of bandwagoners. "Oh, Metallica's old stuff was good but now they suck!" "They're sellouts, fuck the mainstream!" blah blah blah. It's all a bunch of nonconformist crap being spewed by, most likely, a bunch of teenage social outcasts who somehow think that going against the grain makes them smarter than everyone else when it's just a pathetic attempt at seeking attention. But hey, if you want to think that Metallica are sellouts, then go right ahead.....but first, will someone please define the term sellout for me? Because I'm pretty sure a band who was, at one point, THE biggest band in metal and then drastically changed their style when they had reached an even wider audience (more than once, might I add) to the type of music THEY wanted to play, not what the media/fans wanted....well, that's the exact opposite of sellouts for me. I mean, how stupid can people be? Think about it: The Black Album was a huge success for the band and if they had written another arena-metal album with catchy sing-along songs like Enter Sandman they would surely have made tons more money (surely the goal of any sellouts). So what did they do? Completely change their sound, even despite the fact that they might lose many fans (and money) by moving away from their already proven formula. Still not convinced? A few years after they made St. Anger, possibly their LEAST mainstream album. This was not the type of music the media wanted, and this was certainly not the kind of music the fans wanted, but it was what the band wanted to write. So someone please tell me how doing what you want, rather than the same old thing every album, makes you a sellout, because I really don't understand? By the way, Motorhead is by no means a bad band, but it's laughable to compare them with a band like Metallica who had written songs 1000 times more complex than anything Motorhead could ever have written, songs way more emotional, songs showcasing way more technical skill, some songs way catchier than even Ace of Spades, songs with incredible lyrics, and basically songs better in every aspect better than anything Motorhead (or most other band) had/could ever write. Case in point: Motorhead is a great and very influential heavy metal band, but can, in no way, be compared with Metallica, who have achieved more than most any other band could ever dream of. |

| Green Day – Know Your Enemy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song sucks THE biggest dick on earth. Green Day have never been a great band, but they've hit rock bottom if this is honestly the hit single off their new album. Rather than, I don't making, focusing on making good music, they rely on what someone must have at one point thought was a catchy chorus (were they high or just retarded?) repeated a billion times throughout the song. The lyrics are the same as all their other songs and they suck as well. From a musical standpoint, this song is terrible, yet it will still appeal to the lowest-common-denominator people, the same ones who think Blink 182 and Fallout Boy are gods when they're barely even decent at their best. And that, my friends, is why the music industry today has turned to shit. Thanks Green Day, you untalented make-up wearing queers. |
