@[Snailpop:28842] @[Snailpop:28842] I can’t tell you how much I love this. I just within the last week started listening to Hozier and have been using this song as a piece of writing inspiration, and I swear to god I wasn’t even paying attention to the words, but my plotting of the story followed literally the same path—one person dragging another down, then becoming protective. The only reason I searched this because I picked up the part of Bethlehem as I was listening, so it piqued my interest. I know very little about biblical references, and I was vaguely interested in what the song was alluding to. Then I read this and was just like OH MY GOD Hozier brainwashed me and I didn’t even realize. Wonderful, extensive reflection. Thank you for taking the time with it. And sorry for my rambling, my mind was literally just blown. |

Bennie and the Jets is actually about Benjamin Edmonds, a record producer and music critic, and his band the Jets. Benjamin had this crazy girlfriend at one point, who Bernie knew. They would all do drugs together when they would do deals or hang out socially, and pictures of them ended up in the magazines How do i know? I think she is either a prostitute or at least a stripper. i also dont think that peter is in love with her, just usuing taylor for her "Services," and that his wife finds out. and the singin on sunday on part is what he believes makes his soul clean again for cheating on his wife. | |

Correction: instead of "It reaches in and rips your flesh apart" it's "It reaches in and tears your flesh apart." It's probably really silly, but I'm kind of anal about stuff like that.... And yeah, this song is about 9/11. Gerard Way said it himself. by somethingliketredo that person is right, plus a bunch of other lyrics that they put that are wrong in this song. i gotta correct this later, i hatre it when this happens |

i love this song so much. i usually hate christmas songs, just because the cheeriness doesnt appeal to me, but gerard's voice and the added rock sound to it makes it sound so awesome. especially when he's like "I just want to see my baby standing right outside my door" when he whispers the "outside my door " part it sounds so awesome!!!!!! lol i love this song |
