| Green Day – Sweet Children Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I don't know if this person is around any more, but this is to: Frankoz: The last song of the 4 kerplunk songs you mentioned isn't written by Green Day. It's their cover of the Who's classic "My Generation" I honestly can't believe you didn't know that. (also, that's why if you listen closely, in the beginning Billie says: "I think I can do it.") |

| The Beatles – Rain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I read somewhere that John was pissed off when people complained about the weather so he wrote this song. It's really an amazing song though, very revolutionary for it's time, and even today in some way. | |
| The Beatles – I Want to Hold Your Hand Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Penthouserocks said: Revolver which was put out in 1967. I say: hey idiot!!!! Revolver came out in 1966 (EVERYONE KNOWS THAT) Sgt. Peppers came out in 1967. Now anyway.... this is a fantastic song. And I don't know if anyone has picked up on this yet, but at 1:22 into the song John sing "I'm not gonna hold your hand" while McCartney sing the proper line. So, now you can listen for that. : ) |

| The Beatles – She Loves You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's funny because whenever they sing "She said she loves you and you know that can't be bad" it sounds like one voice is singing "She said she'd love to and you know that can't be bad." (and just so you don't think I'm crazy... here is another source saying the same thing: http://www.pootle.demon.co.uk/wgo.htm) Anyway... I love this song, their early stuff is phenomenal. |

She keeps it pumpin' straight to my heart I hear: "She keeps a perfect strain on my heart" I love Kurt.... if you listen closely you can make out a lot of what he is saying, but this I'm not that sure about. |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – Disarm Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
First off, a question: does anyone hear the word ''odd'' instead of the word ''old'' in this song, or is it just me. I think this song is about about a relationship, between a boy and girl. The first line could be the boy trying to break through the girls shyness. The "cut me like you want me to cut that little child" line is about the boy wanting his smile to cut away away their small inner child(s) so the relationship can grow. "The years burn" is now fastforwarding to the present and is both of them seeing how the relationship has hurt them more then helped. The chorus is the boy talking about when he was younger and how innocent and how odd he used to be in his shoes back then. The line "whats a boy supposed to do" is him contemplating whether or not the relationship is salvageable. In the next lines (the killer in me is the killer in you) is both of them knowing that the relationship is coming to an end, but both not wanting to admit it, while still sending smiles over to one and other to attempt to make everything OK. The second verse is basically telling the girl that he is going to leave her to wither in denial.... the denial being the slow dawning that the relationship is at an end. The change in the chorus, in the second time, is him breaking through the shackles of the relationship, saying that this is his choice to leave her. Phew! done with that. |

| The Standells – Dirty Water Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Meaning is easy to figure. Trivia: The Standells were a Los Angeles, California based band and this song was written by their producer Ed Cobb. (I'm guessing that Ed may have lived in Boston at one point in his life). And it's "Lovers, muggers, and thieves" |

| The White Stripes – We're Going to Be Friends Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
The First time I heard this song I fell in love with it. I think I first heard this song on the radio while going to school. I fell in love with it. So innocent and sweet. Really brings you back to your childhood, before we were exposed to the horrors and evils of the world around us. When you thought holding hands with a girl would give the mother of all cootie cases. Yet it was SHE who grabbed your hand, and after a while you began to think "hey, this isn't so bad." How I long for those days right now. Favorite line: We don't notice any time pass/We don't notice anything |

| Elliott Smith – Thirteen (Big Star cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this song is about young love and about being thirteen in general. It might be that the girls dad doesn't like the way the guy dresses, or the type of music he listens to. | |
