honestly he's just an amazing story teller and song writer, because while a lot of his writing seems autobiographical he claims its not, and i'd like to think it isn't because your right, it would be hella depressing for most of his songs to represent someones life. |

finally someone said something that makes sense. it does seem like he is seperated from civilization. He's living under a tarp, trying to make a home, but then it springs a leak. Instead of seeing animals as animals, they become his pets because they are all that he has. He lives of grass and drippings from the ceiling for crying out loud.
No matter how you look at it, how you interpret it, everyone is coming up with the same thing, which is the main point of this song. There is something in the way, which keeps him from feeling the same as everyone else. Something is seperating him from the rest of society. and we can all relate to that, which is why this is such a great song |

great song
the line "but god dies too, but not before he'll stick it to you" really resonates with me. Maybe brock (an athiest) is saying that no matter what you are, you will die. So god wins if you don't believe in him, cause you end up in hell. God sticks it to you. God dies too when humanity dies, but as long as you keep coming back, he'll get you.
Still have no idea what the beginning makes. It starts the whole contradicting idea, but as a whole i can't put anything together. |
