The part that trips a lot of people up is the sun and the moon part. How about this... He loves the girl, he returns in some way or fashion...in his exploration of her room he finds a deep love and admiration for her, of course they are not together anymore. The pictures hits him deep, but since they are not together, he can only feel the secondary love that he once shared with her. He's branded for taking the fall and not being able to work things out with her. A painful bliss, the joy of remembrance of his true love, and the pain of not having it anymore. I'm going to declare all of you unofficially wrong. Especially coffinspires because unless you're jesus you are a hypocrite. This album was released when they went on the take action tour. Suicide prevention...that is the key to understanding these lyrics. No one understands this kid. Not a soul, not even his parents. When he does something wrong there is no one there for him. Depression will set in or a change in personality inevitably (i.e.-learning to yell and be angry like your parents) breaking their blood pumping mechanisms is a metaphor for breaking their hearts obviously. but a lot of their songs refer to veins and slashing and blood. the blood pumping mechanism is a tie to the theme of cutting and suicide, so to speak the heart of the issue (love). " they are scared burn them like you did the rest they are dead " ever hear the phrase 'burning bridges'? when you are hopeless, you do things to burn bridges because you can't trust anyone and no one understands you. they are hence, dead to him. |
