| The Black Angels – Don't Play With Guns Lyrics

I think it's more than just a song about hired guns. I hear it more as a song about bad girls. Girls out of his league. Everyone knows one, the type of girl who knows how to get into and out of trouble. The warning about guns isn't actually saying, be careful with guns it's saying, don't play with me, I'm dangerous. |

Well, I have the album, and yes, that is how it ends and personally I'm happy. When I first heard it I was a little disappointed thinking the same thing Whaleharpoone said, but then I realized yes it is actually brilliant. When you can make it as a band and not be like every other band out there, that is brilliance. Death Cab has gone there. We would expect a nice transition into the last song but they throw you for a hook that makes you listen closer. Also what crimsondawn said about the relationship between the lyrics and the music makes it even cooler. |

I happen to disagree with logic vs. cake, I think it's about a relationship that's completely one sided. He loves someone so much, but he's not getting it back. And he can't understand how such a strong feeling he has toward this other person, I'm a assuming a woman (they are from Texas, I think it's a safe assumption,) doesn't feel the same way back. They were in a relationship, but it did nothing for the girl. |

In my opinion, this song is about how he is human and sin fallen, and yet God is forever. He will mess up, and he is comforted by the fact that God will not. |

I think this one is about a relationship that the writter is no longer happy with. In fact, I think he's scared. All the metaphors of some sort of bodily harm and he doesn't like what the other person in the relationship will eventually turn him into. "til I finally break down" I think the best part of the song is the last two lines. They paint this picture of the girl who is causing him the problems and he's letting her go. He talks about "the dark." Darkness has an archetypal connection with evil. And given the bands Christian background, it's safe to assume that this connection can be made. It's my opinion though that the "he" in the last line is refering to the devil. It is being written in a cynical way as to portray the writter's giving up, she wants to live that way anyway.
Finally, a quick tweak in the lyrics should be addressed, he does not say "you games", rather he says "your games." At first listen it is easy to think this way but when you listen closer you can clear hear him singing your. |

| The Myriad – We Will Be Dissapointed Together Lyrics

I think that this song isn't necessarily about doubt that God is there or not, it's more of just a call during the hard times. In the first half of the song, he feel downtrodden and like he can't connect with God anymore, and in the last half, he's saying that he's going to go to God anyway, even though he has some sort of weight or sin in him. They can both be disappointed together, and isn't it true that when you find someone to be disappointed with it usually makes you feel better?
Great band; can't wait for the new album. |

I just wanted to point out that the song talks about walking "it" and it's cool that Jeremy Davis created a "walking" bass line. I doubt that's just coincidence. Paramore is really amazing. |

This song is so amazing, I agree with you who said everyone has felt this way before. And Danfran I think you have most of it right but I think the chorus is in a different place. Like this girl he stays out with even after it gets late. Also I want to point out the flanger effect throughout the verses. It gives a very flowing sound that mimics a swing. Like the noise passing through ones ears as they go back and forth on the swing. That's another reason why I thin the chorus isn't taking place in the setting of the versus, because the feeling of the verse is gone. |

| Jeremy Larson – Today Lyrics

This song is about moving on from a relationship. Notice the first verse he says it's strange that he moves and "you" doesn't. and then he doesn't know how he feels without "you." In the second verse though he says something that comes out at first as mean and sarcastic but when you take a closer look its just a train of thought. He meant to call "you" and tell "you" that he loves "you." Then he switches to the past tense and says he DID love "you." So what I get is that he's upset because he obviously still has feeling about whoever "you" is but not feelings as intense as love. And to end it with that he moves on and "you" stay asleep is just reaffirming that he in fact has moved on and is getting better. |

| Mute Math – Plan B Lyrics

Mute Math is a band full of Christian guys, they are not a Christian band though. This is something they have said. Even though they are not a "Christian" band their beliefs still come out in their writing. This song is like a cry out to God or some higher being for help, asking "come mend it all." It's the realization that man can not live without God and when they try to, it all gets torn down, run into the ground.
That's what I get out of it. |

| The Forecast – A Fist Fight for Our Fathers Lyrics

I could be completely wrong with this but here's what I get. It's about living dangerously in denial. The need to wake up or come back to reality and quit lying to one's self. The fast paced feel of the song and the strong yelling singing give the feeling of a fight like the writer/singer is trying fighting with someone to snap out of it. It really is a great connection between the feel of the song and the lyrics.
Plus its a great bass line and that's just cool. |

canYouhearmeouthere, you have an excellent point. I think that too many people have lost touch with music. That's why there are so little instrumental or jam bands anymore. People just don't have the attention span to hear great music. And like some said, the intro isn't Mozart but it fits the song and I happen to think is amazing. |

I deffinetley agree with MaximumMax on this one. It's obviously about a relationship that has been disrupted or maybe one that hasn't happened yet but the girl has left and the guy just doesn't want to tell her over the phone that he loves her. Or maybe she's going to leave.
Great lyrics and writing on this song. |

This is deffinetly the best song on the album. I think it's a little deeper than just memories of growing up. The bridge really shows this. He say's he thought that everyone loved him, cared and so on. Seems like maybe he had a certain group of friends that turned out to be alot less than what he thought. Even at the end he says he doesn't miss last november. Maybe he moved on from whatever it was that wasn't as good as it seemed. In short it seems like he was saying, things were awesome, then something happend and people changed for the worse and he's moved on. Atleast that what I think. |
