My thoughts is about a relationship that is going sour. This sounds like an argument between lovers, but all he can think about is trying to save their relationship. Save our now, as in, save our current time together, lets not break up. Interesting because the next song on the track list seems to be about the fact that he is now broken up with someone, and telling her not to worry that he is doing ok. Perhaps this album is about the cycle of relationships? Just my initial thoughts without actually reading up on Devin's life or interviews, purely going off what the lyrics seem like to me :) |

"For mankind so hated the world That it gave all it's begotten sons and daughters That whoever believed the lie To perish and receive everlasting hell" I believe this last part explains the meaning of the whole song. It's that Mankind hates it's self, therefore it created the ultimate self hatred machine, Christianity. Because, whoever believe the lie (of Christianity), is to believe in being punished to hell for having free will. AKA Christianity makes people resent their own nature and makes them hate themselves. And since sin is inevitable, those who believe in this ever lasting hell are already dammed to it. |

I could be wrong, but it sounds pretty obvious to me that she is pissed at Nina for leaving they band and its not going to stop her. And she wants Nina to feel bad about it. "She didn't get it so fuck her" Nina didn't get it that this band meant a lot to Louise. I want you to want me I need you to need me I dare you to ditch me I beg you to miss me She also really misses Nina and wants her back besides the bad blood between them. Just my take on it ;) |
