I saw CC on LV on 05/05 and he said this song was dedicated to one of the guitar players of the band who had some crush on a stripper that was dating another woman. Actually, the song refers to a man losing his wife to another woman. |

Runningace18 explanition is good, and to some point I agree with it. At the same time, I think that Chris Cornell is a 'move ahead' type of guy. I also saw the video, and when comparing it to the song, it seems that the message here is for the people who try to blind themselves to the violent world we are living. You can't just 'feel nothing' for the things we are living these days. I know Chris Cornell is not a political focused songwriter as were his former bandmates of Audioslave, but I've read in interviews that sometimes he adresses his political or social opinions in a subtle way. Anyways, the song is just great. Chris is an amazing songwriter and poet. |
