I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet because there are over 13 pages and i don't plan on reading them all. But the line "They stab it with their steely knives But they just can't kill the beast" is making a reference towards Steely Dan. Both bands share the same manager and had a little friendly rivalry. |

| I was born in Memphis and have lived here all my life. All I have to say to you people who talk about the south and the north is that this is the UNITED States of America. We're all one country. So shut up saying I'm so proud to be a racist redneck or I'm so proud to be a tofu liberal, when it comes down to it we're all just Americans. I'm not racist against anyone but most americans think that racism only applies when a white person offends a black person, I agree 100% that it is showing a huge lack of intelligence by doing something that is wrong to someone just because they're black. But making fun of the Arabic people who bombed us is okay just because a few of them are bad? Calling them "towelheads" is showing racism too. The reason I picked this example is because around 911 most americans were guilty of this crime and i can understand being upset by losing a family member to a few ignorant people but this doesn't make a whole culture evil. The muslim lifestyle is actually very peaceful. Everyone just needs to learn to get along and not worry about skin color or where your from or if you dress funny,etc. Obviously this song is talking about the south in the 1800's and not now. The south pretty much looks just like the north nowadays. But people just need to get a grip and stop posting comments that have no sense of intelligence by calling eachother retarded and racist and everything else. | |
