Slipknot – Snuff Lyrics 16 years ago
Oh, I should also give my interpretation of the song.
In the beginning, like some others have said, I think he's upset with himself and blaming himself for the break up. The music is soft and slow, as he feels he's not worth much. But as the song progresses, he speaks more about how maybe it's her fault, and the music, paralleling the lyrics, becomes more intense and louder. Then finally, he becomes angry, saying she refuses fight for their relationship and that she "sold him out to save herself", meaning she put him down to get ahead. This point in the song, the music is at it's heaviest.
Listening to just the music progress without the lyrics is even amazing. One can definitely get a feel for what is happening just by that. But the lyrics do add that last touch of excellence.
I am amazed by how simply and powerfully they were able to put the progression of his feelings and conclusion about the end of their relationship. It's perfect.

I've never been a Slipknot fan. Their music has always been way too violent for me and it was just too much. But I've always always always been a Corey fan- he's the epitome of amazing. So when he went and made Stone Sour, I pretty much fell in love with the band. It's still my favorite band. I was upset when he announced the return to Slipknot, but this cd is actually very good. It has a Stone Sour kind of feel, especially this particular song, and it's very real. So hopefully their next alum will be just as good.

Seether – Senseless Tragedy Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah this song is from their Saron Gas days, which were from South Africa.
I bought the cd about five years ago, and it's very expensive (because there aren't many copies and not many people are selling it online), but it's worth every penny.

As far as this song in particular goes, I feel like madmike098 hit it on the nail.

Imogen Heap – Speeding Cars Lyrics 18 years ago
yeah this song really doesn't have anything to do with boyfriend/girlfriend, or even issues sang about in the song. at least, to me, it doesn't.
for the most part, i agree with ABCDEmily. but she hit it a little more superficially than i thought.

The very first couple lines are the most important in the entire song, and they really speak a lot.
"Here's the day you hoped would never come,"
Pretty obvious and self spoken.
"Don't feed me violins,"
Violins usually play soft, sad music. What I think she is saying is not to bring people down with your sob stories, but
"Just run with me through rows of speeding cars."
Think about that. Running through speeding cars. That's pretty exhilerating and exciting. Instead of complaining about how life brings you down, you should do something exciting. Carpe diem. Seize the day.

"Papercuts and cheating lovers"
IN took this line as what Emily said, how the world has its smaller problems, and then bigger issues.
"I know you think it's more than just bad luck,"
Pretty simple. People tend to look the only direction things are going. If one thing goes wrong, they'll count everything else that goes wrong, too. When they could be looking on the brighter side.

"There there baby, it's just textbook stuff, it's in the ABC of growing up. Now now darling, don't kill yourself, none of us were angels and you know I love you, yeah"
There's a lot said in that. The first part, talking about textbook stuff and growing up; I believe she is saying how all those problems in life are there for a reason. There to /learn/ from (note: you learn from textbooks).
The second part kind of goes along with the first. How you shouldn't overreact (don't kill yourself) to your problems because of what was said in the first couple lines.
The "I love you" part is a little more obvious. How overreacting will make you oblivious to how much help, assistance, or "friends" you have to support you.

"I've watched you slowly winding down for years"
Instead of a girl, or a friend of hers, I kind of got that as a personification of the world. How the world is slowly get more and more desensitized (sp?) and troublesome.

i guess i could go one, but i have some chores to finish. but it really is a thought provoking song. :)

Stone Sour – Omega Lyrics 18 years ago
he reminds me of emerson and thoreau.
of course, he's a little more.. blunt? that's a bad word for it. he's more into the world around us rather than nature, but he still has similar characteristics as they did.
which is completely. . amazing.
i find him rather outstanding, no matter what some of you think.

I'm not really sure about this song. It's so different and unlike Seether. But then again, Karma and Effect was quite shocking as well.

I'll have to listen to it more to decide what my opinion is.

MaggieMichelle got the same meaning out of this song that I did.

And even though this isn't the best on the Saron Gas album, it's still lovely, like all.

Good Charlotte – Bloody Valentinte Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is actually about a book written by Edgar Allen Poe. Good Charlotte tends to copy other's work [Note- the name Good Charlotte came from a children's book about a good who gets lost]. But the song is pretty self explanitory. A girl and a boy are dating, some other guy likes the girl so he kills her boyfriend. It's right there. Black and white.

It's just based from another story.
