Mike Oldfield – In High Places Lyrics 10 years ago
Pls correct me where I'm wrong. It's verbose. I'm a serious listener to Oldfield and Enigma(Cretu). These two guys have so much to tell by words and by instruments...here goes the analysis of the song.

1. Look down from in high places" =
High places here means space craft/vehicle/rocket. Oh it has spiritual meaning too, abode of gods. Mike Oldfield is spiritual inquisitive.

2. Lift off the ground" = the space vehicle taking off a launching pad like a rocket

3. Without a sound, yeah" = advanced launching technology unlike our current violent explosive/combustion/rotary blades that makes massive noise. In the Song, Note how the yeah is emphasized in the end as if to quell any doubt that there is any such noiseless lifting/launching.

4. We move through open spaces" = space craft racing up towards the sky to escape gravity

5. The wind, it pulls " = this is talking about gravitational pull. But expressed from atmospheric pressure vantage. As in cubits of columns of air pushing down on the space craft.

6. The sky gets close, yeah" = getting closer to the clouds

7. Could we get much higher?
Could we get much lighter? Navigator to heaven" = let's get higher, let's get to zero gravity(lighter), Navigators to heaven aka space explorers.

9. Check out, did you check your heart?" = Not sure but must be some precautionary/safety measures for crew relating to change in pressure, environmental variables. An astronaut here might help us.

10. This cloudless blue" = reached upper atmosphere

11. This starlight night, yeah" = has escaped planetary atmosphere but seems to have done so at the opposite side of the sun. So it's dark because the planetary body still blocks sun rays from reaching where the space craft is. And the darkness is dotted with stars in the sky.

12. Shoot out into the shining" = completely escaped the planetary body and shot into the warn rays of the sun.

13. That devil moon
(That devil moon)
He sings of love, yeah" = I'm lost here. But let me assume! Mike is a spiritual inquisitive fella. Loves mythology, and gods. He read wide on these things and integrated them in his songs. This is a spiritual message. Giving the moon a dark aspect: Devil moon & positive aspect : sings of love.

14. The stars, so close we touch them" = pls note in the lyrics '...we touch them'. I think the correct one is '...we'd touch them'. Meaning, they appeared so close as compared to viewing from planet that we almost touch them. Not physically!

15. They seem so small
They make me wonder" = Of course, far out objects seem small. Support my point above that they didn't physically touch any star.

16. Far out in formation" = yes they yearn to learn more of the other stars/heavenly bodies like any other curious explorers would.

17. Five thousand moons
Floating balloons" = this is emphasis on the sheer amount of multitude moons they can even see from their limited position thus far. Not a real fixed number per say. All floating lazily in the ordered celestial orbits like balloons.

18. Couldn't get much higher
Couldn't get much lighter
Navigator to heaven " = this indicates limit of their state of space exploration capabilities ; equipment/technology. It's expression of sadness, as in shit, wish we could go further, but here is out limit, for now!

Rob Dougan – Clubbed To Death Lyrics 14 years ago
Here is my interpretation, mostly deduced from the video itself. Definitely just an opinion.

It's about his life. He looked around and different from every other people, and some dudes are fighting and no one is startled, when he jolted to do something everyone looks startled at him like a weirdo, a strange person being different from the status quo, then the combined startled wave of opinion an actions stops him from following the status quo. He chooses to follow is 'Unique Weirdo heart' in love, started running backward and everyone in the cars looked surprised, why is he so different? He falls through trials and errors and make mistakes but quickly learns from it. Then he goes faster, climbs over a car, that is now more bold in following his heart and don't give a shit about others opinion. Then he becomes faster and faster and breaks the barrier of reality and becomes enlightened. comes back to the world to show them what he has learned. Then gives a warm child to the child, as in I am 'born again' filled with knowledge and lighthearted too. IT'S ABOUT SELF-INTROSPECTION AND ENLIGHTENMENT.

Enigma – Out from the Deep Lyrics 14 years ago
Alright, b4 I begin, let me say that I have heard this song about 30 time minimum. It started making sense when I started learning about souls journey and weird stuff like that. Here is what I think...

"We came out from the deep" ... We are reincarnated from the spirit world into our world/planet of choosing. This planet could be earth or any other with intelligence lives for souls to bind with and take over.

"To learn to love, to learn how to live." ... soul journey to becoming more is that of learning and experience acquisition. I am much even touched by this coz i heard that being a loner may hinder ur evolutionary soul development.

"To avoid the mistakes we made" ... every reincarnation is a chance to live and try to overcome certain past mistakes in our past lives. So...you may need to learn more on how "...to love, to learn how to live."

"It takes many lives till we succeed." ... yes, it is said that soul development is reaaally slow. In some life time, u may not even learn much, an utter waste.

"That's why we are here" ... alright said already, we are here for learning and experience accumulation towards becoming like the source or something like God.

"Some say it's just a part of it
We've got to fullfill the book"
this the part I'm not so clear, which book? bible cos he was baptized b4 he died. did Rastafarians have a holy/prophetic book? it cant be Koran cos he had nothing to do with other religions or believes besides Rastafarian and Christianity. and if any of these two speculated books, which chapter and what was the prophesy that must be fulfilled?

Bob Marley and the Wailers – Redemption Song Lyrics 18 years ago
The first lines tell about the content of the rest of the song. We white guys hate to admit this shameful past. slave trade, taking new religion(s) to africa and eliminating their prophets that have a foresight of eminent destruction of those moves. These line "We forward in this generation
Triumphantly" and "Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom" tell you that marley's generation was then free of slavery and he is using songs to celebrate freedom from such horror. And the line "Have no fear for atomic energy
'Cause none of them can stop the time" show marley admits by then that white-man's technology of atomic energy/bomb such a hiroshima is far superior but none of them can control our fates showing example that we can mark and measure time but we can't stop nor pause it.
