| The Killers – Read My Mind Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Brandon moved to Utah when he was pretty young and moved back when he was around junior high and i think that the verse or whatever... "The good old days the honest man the restless heart the promised land a subtle kiss that no one sees a broken wrist and a big trapeze" ...are like small mermories that he has of his hometown, Henderson NV. They are spicific things that he remembers when he lived there. For example, "a broken wrist and a big trapeze" maybe refers to him falling off a trapeze and breaking his wrist at a park, or maybe the big trapeze was a circus and he at some point of his childhood broke his wrist. just personal experiences and whatnot. It's what you would see if you READ HIS MIND. -same goes for the other verse To sum it all up, he's writing about wanting to move back from Utah from Nevada. I think that's about as deep as this song goes p.s i just have a feeling that this is riddled with spelling errors...so sorry... |

| The Killers – Andy, You're a Star Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| A friend of mine said that Brandon Flowers was Bi and this is the song he wrote about it, which makes a lot of sense to me. | |
| Sublime – Cisco Kid Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| That organ in the beginning is from the Doors "Soul Kitchen" | |

I agree with FeelingGroovy but i don't deny the possiblity of it being a girlfriend. Wikipedia says that this is a coversong of George Gershwin's "Summertime" and that it's about a guy who feels imprisoned by his girlfriend through her infidelities We probably won't ever know Brad's connection or inspiration to cover this song, but its a safe to say it was about his girlfriend or his addiction |
|
| Gorillaz – The Swagga Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Its about a guy who is making and selling drugs but he wants to stay clean and not shoot up but the end kinda shows that he has an addiction to it | |
| Gorillaz – Kids With Guns Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
The album itself is about sin and redemption This particular song is about the corruption of youth and where it will go if it continues unchecked |
|
| Beck – Earthquake Weather Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i dont think we will know what this song means until we find out what inspired it. Artist don't just shit out music every morning like rappers. especially beck. theres deffinitly some sort of inspiration behind the whole CD. Could be that hes trying to settle down but just can't do it (looking for a life to call my own). wow what i would do to interview Beck........ | |

| Beck – Black Tambourine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| the song (and most of guero) has a black (literally) rundown city connotation. he talks a lot about bones and a tambourine kinda immitaits the sounds of rattling bones. shivering. im sure its got to be deeper then this but, for now, i gotta agreee with Unnicknamed. I'm thinking that he saw something that inspired him to right this. (like walking through the boondocks or something) idk | |
| Beck – E-Pro Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| yeah mikes thing is pretty deep but i dont think that it is the message. | |

| The Doors – The Crystal Ship Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| its feels like a poem that he just put in song. it has structured stanzas, rhyme scheme, and same syllabals (sp?) in each line. (there are some exceptions) he did write a lot of poetry though. | |

| Beck – Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
lol can we please stop arguing/agreeing with "sun-eyed" "cynide" etc. Anyways, ~Toy diamond ring, stuck on her fingure. im pretty sure that this is a metaphore for a meaningless mariage that this "girl" is stuck in. how it fits in with the rest of the song, i have yet to find out |

| The Good, the Bad and the Queen – Herculean Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Damon is up there with my favorite poets. Fantastic song and like everyone else im still trying to make sence of it. Hey Homertown whats W1? | |
| The Good, the Bad and the Queen – Kingdom of Doom Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This is a really cool song. Not really sure what it means but i have some ideas. Reminds me of like a near-future post apocolyptic world. Maybe like after WWIII. Could be about the fact that everyone is at war and its depressing. | |
| Gorillaz – Highway (Under Construction) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| theres a torrent that has 30 B-side songs on it and this is one of it but im afraid to put it on this site so tell me if you want it and ill e-mail a link to you. Its awsome. 30 unreleased songs...fantastic | |
| Gorillaz – Hip Albatross Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Dear Jigling, lol for the most part you are wrong. The band is basically directed by Damon Albarn (and the art and some song writing is done by Jamie Hewlett, who is the co-creater with Damon). There are other people in the band. There is a drummer, violinist, extra vocals, and lots of other odds 'n ends. BUT there is NOT a noodle, russel, murdoc, not even 2-D. 2-D is'nt Damon because if you watch the animated short films that Jamie made, he acts nothing like Damon. bonky109 is right. Sorry buddy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They wrote this song because Dawn/day of the Dead is Damon and Jamie's favorite movie. |

| Gorillaz – Last Living Souls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| If you guys like Gorillaz, you would def. like Damon's first band, Blur, and his new one, The Good the Bad and the Queen. I think Gorillaz is still the best but Blur is a close second. Check them out | |
| Gorillaz – Punk Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
'Punk' Said to myself "I'll go up" Makeup for myself, I'll never Always this time I thought I stand up Then another day to shut up Back to this town, doing what you can Bound to be gone, damned a loser Damned it but I'll never give up But everybody said to "Shut up" Damd she might care to love up Then say she'll never get up Everybody said to shoot up Last time I tell them word up Down in the sun, I did what I was told Did it to my self, did it to my self And don't expect anything else Cause everybody told me "Shut up" These are the REAL lyrics. Its from gorillaz-unofficial.com which is what i believe to be the biggest gorillaz fan site ever made. |

| ya maybe a prelude to the whole 19/2000 song | |
| The All-American Rejects – Dirty Little Secret Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| this song sucks. THe lyrics have about as much depth as a shower. They are'nt very good musicians. They are just a pop rock fade band that i hope to God never makes another record. | |
| Blur – On Your Own Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think its about like the whole teen wreakless punk phase a lot of people go through. Kinda like sex drugs and rock&roll. I went through it. He talks about doing drugs, dreaming of rioting, and worshipping music. You can also say that "So take me home Don't leave alone" means going home and hopping in bed with somebody (Ya its a stretch but it kind of fits with what im talking about.) he's not a phsyco killer, he's just a hulligan gorilla. (a punk) and then in the end we are all the same. You snap back to reality and then fall into line with society, becoming the very thing you fought against. a corporate zombie... Make sence? |

| Geto Boys – Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I like this song because its like the total opposite to rap today. Rap now is all about flexin' nuts and whatnot but remember, real azz gangsta don't flex nuts because real azz gangstas know they got 'em. Originally gangs were made to protect and help their hood but now its way different. I know this because i live in the CHicago suburbs. we got plenty of gangs out here. awsome song | |
| Gorillaz – Happy Landfill Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| lol giddy....that book is giant piece of fiction. its not true lol read my comment up there ^ | |
| Troubled Hubble – Ear Nose & Throat Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
wow cool song. nobody will probably ever read this but here it goes. first of all, here are the allusions in the song: Super 8, Red Roof inn., etc: hotal chains Sudafed, claritin, theraflu, airborne: cold medacines Otolaryngology: the study of the anatomy of the ears nose and throat (common cold infection points) ~ok soo u probably already knew that but im bored right now. neways, if u look at previous songs of troubled hubble, its usually about an observance or story. (i.e. Canoe song, Molecules, delcinea) its about a business man who is working for the "man" trying to make it in life. hes traveling and gets sick at a hotel. takes cold medacine. In america it is obviuous that the rich are better off in life. they can buy the best treatment for nething. (healthy equals wealthy). and this "man" is keeping the main character down. (metaphor for the average johnny pencil pusher treying to make it in life) "When push comes. Don't shove. Just step aside and let the powerful men pass by" in america the poor stay poor and the rich stay rich. this man who wants to buy medacine or w/e for his family is stuck down at teh bottum~ish (we dont really no but we can assume that he is lower-middle class). Do to our government and social structure this person is stuck. Lemme give u a good example of why or government is doing this. ~Bc we are capitalist (which isnt exactly bad) the government doesnt own colleges. in most cases if u wanna make u good living u gotta go to college. and college cost a looooot of money. so maybe u were born into a lower class family. u are able to get your associats (sp?) degree but not ur bach. U dont get the education the average rich kid will get if hes parents pay him through his bacc. or maybe even his masters. ~in some socialist countries (ex/ France) their college is paid iin full by the government. so lets say u were poor, worked hard in school got accepted to college, u will get the same well deserved education aS everyone. ~so the general theme of this song is probably that the rich stay healthy and wealthy. they are always better off even from birth sometimes. its hard to make it in life so step aside and let the powerful men step by |

| Gorillaz – Last Living Souls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think that its about judgement day. It runs with the post-apocalypse theme. neways, so they say they know that they were wrong with some things they did and saying wat they should have done Ex/ Take a gun Or how you say That's no way you behave (shouldnt have done it) ~~and~~ Sing a song that doesn't sin (easy one) Next part----- What you say? (God perhaps provides a "rebutle" 2 them) Cause all I was on (drugs) (justifying his actions) I got it down wrong (maybe became a habit) I see myself to get (he is aware of this) -He saying when he was on drugs he sinned a lot And Finally~~ And the Lord, seeing all now Can you take us in ~if u cant interpret this then there is no hope for u lol The final verse about the car i have no clue. the only guess i have that would fit with the "are we the last living souls?" is maybe they were last in "line" to get into heaven. back to the car, "You fit the last you need on me" maybe they are (please dont get offended this is the best why i can explain) "mexi packing" it in the car on the way to heaven... |

| Gorillaz – 19-2000 Lyrics | 18 years ago |

mmk first of all: there are no Gorillaz. Damon writes songs adn JAmie draws everything. no big black guy or ten year old asain. they did that bc it would be cool for a concert it think.. Neways The song is about someone who doesnt no how to dance. Hes too fast. he needs shiny dance shoes i guess lol but im pretty sure its about that |

| Does neone no where i can download this??? | |
| Gorillaz – White Light Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Ok Maki "..And the vocals are indeed by Murdoc." i hate to break it to u and neone else reading this who doesnt no, Murdoc, Noodle, 2-D, and Russel are fake. Just like Santa and the Easter BUnny...the band consists of Damon ALbarn (lyrics, piano, and whatnot) and Jamie Hewlett (artist), along with scores of extras...so no its not murdoc. Rise of the Ogre is a piece of fictions so dont take it as gospal but the meanings of the songs are in it. |
