i read an interview in which Sonny said the song was written about Phil Reardon the former vocalist leaving the band. but they kind of made it sound like it was about a girl to kind of give it a different spin. the "to put it nicely i hope you choke" part is meant figuritively like the band hopes he chokes as in when you perform and get too nervous to sing. |

imo it's about a breakup, and the singer wrote his ex a letter telling her stuff he wishes he could have told her before they were over, i think he thinks it would have possibly changed the way they ended up. ie the my heart your hands part meaning he poured his heart out into the letter she's holding. "I cant forget your face. I cant forget what youve said. I cant erase the memories, its like running from a ghost. I cant forget your face. I cant forget the things youve said." |

i think the meaning is fairly simple. i think it's just about indulging in positive things. instead of drugs and the like, you know all those songs about love being a drug and -insert girls name here- being an addiction? well, i think it's like that. but i could be totally off mark here. |
