Andrew Bird – Opposite Day Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't often post comments here, but I found this amusing and had to post it.

A while ago I had an experience with an exotic phenethylamine (don't ask, haha, but it is legal in my country), and the first two paragraphs exactly happened to me.

It was in the morning, the sun was shining in my window directly into my eyes, and without warning I became a cephalopod-ishthing.

After I snapped out of my vision, I was amazed that I was a human and had legs and arms.

The day continued much like the second paragraph (laws of physics losing their sway), but I digress.

Anyway, I know that isn't what the song is really about, but it always makes me smile when I hear it, just because of my experiences.

---

To thejlar, the last verse could certainly be a different person, because of the mood/thought change. Then again, the whole song is about opposite day, which lets there be infinite interpretations... That's what's so confusing about opposite day in general ;-).

Electric President – We Were Never Built To Last Lyrics 18 years ago
I had to post this, because the lyrics of this verse are so amazing, and they are wrong above. It should be:

We sit on our hands and watch it all fall.
No one blinks an eye (eye eye eye).
There’s not much worth saving.
Just lots of buildings and concrete colored skies.

I don't know why this verse makes me smile so much, maybe I'm just insane, haha. Great song.
