I strongly believe this song is about a trip. i have heard people say that this album has a lot to do with drugs (or maybe people just like to say that about all music) and although i havent gave the entire album a good listen (just purchased today) i get that feeling from the song. or maybe its just because i heard appleseed cast for the first time during my first and just before my first bad trip. but... "common places. haunted past. with all the woods now gone, i knew it wouldnt last. and all the faces, are question marks. up and down the street. looking down the block." - a lot of times being in the woods tripping lets you just explore new and beautiful things but when you go back to something familiar that state of mind can change and get you into thinking deep about things you know or thought you knew. "common places. haunted rooms. wandering inside. contemplating doom. it marks our faces, when we dont smile. dont get me out of bed. i want to lay here a while." - people sometimes thing the worst of things "contemplating doom" and no matter what they cant get it off their minds and want to dwell on it and try and figure it out or solve the "problem" "so come another day, i just cant the faces are out there this is your last chance. you must come out." - a lot of times people want the trip to end so badly but it seems as though no matter how hard you try, you can't get it to stop |
