I thought the same thing

and I'm pretty sure it's "hot pants on and up", too...

Well, she does say, "drop another dime", which is obviously referring to drugs. I think that's what makes this song controversial. It is about just going to a club and having a good time, but then it also talks about how she gets some drugs to have an even better time.

Did she run off with the farmer? Or the professor?
Or the banker? Or the clergyman?
Is it possible that she could be in (???)? Or (???)?
Or Vegas? Or (???)?
The first (???) sounds like Timbuktu. The third one sounds like West Pakistan. I can't make heads or tails of the second one, though.

When I first heard this song, I thought it was referring to Immigrants. I still hold that theory, after reading the three pages of interpretations. I believe, when she says, "they'll name a city after us" she's referring to when all the immigrants came to America and settled in different areas. "Little Italy", China Town", etc. Now we blame the immigrants for our problems. We "give them a talking to" even though we, too, are not natives to this land.

"new ones are slave labor you can keep" might refer to cheap labor that immigrants provide.

That's just some of my thinking on this song.

Regarding the supposedly-loved Lysistrata debate:

I think Amanda is referring to the fact that women don't only want sex out of a relationship. Though they women were reluctant and shocked at the fact that Lysistrata was asking them to withhold sex from their husbands, because the women enjoyed sex as well, they saw that they had to in order to stop the war.

And let us remember that, yes, the play is satirical.

The Dresden Dolls – Gravity Lyrics 18 years ago
"Someone tell her, someone get her UP!

You can do it! (exasperated sigh)
Good girl! (ABC's start)
Right foot (echo), Left foot (echo)
It's just the way we showed you
Back in the car! Careful on the seatbelt!

Posture, ah-ah-ah-oh, Posture, oh!

Look, I- please don't! Poke him or something and see if he's moving, okay?!

I think we've lost him!"

I agree with most of this. I think the second 'posture' is actually 'hotter'

and I think it goes like this at the end:

Look, I- please don't! Poke her or something and see if she's moving, okay?!

I think we've lost her!
