I agree, they got a lot of crap for becoming mainstream, and I'm even guilty for getting a little weirded out when i saw that they had moved from, "christian" section to "rock" section...It just seemed bizarre to me, but i gained a lot of respect back for them after this song, and it has got to be hard--but I think the song explains its self pretty well. they're still the same people, time has just moved on. they still have the same goal, they just have the honor of giving to a more mainstream audience, the best part about it is that they're doing what they love, they don't really have an agenda...it just comes naturally through their lyrical form. |

sorry, i'm thinking and typing two different things. what the comment above was suppose to say was: i too have heard that this song is about God and Aaron when he was upset with God, trying to figure things out. I love it, it's one of my favorites. I can relate to it very much. |

I really think it has nothing to do about Sex. --Although they are some christian artists do sing about sex, and that is fine-- Acceptance are followers of Christ, yet they don't write "gospel" music--so this song could be about sex, but I don't see it as that.
I think it's talking about a girl who is caught--and when she talks about how she is sucked into a relationship--seeming like she can't ever let go--knowing that she has to though, but it's hard. An addiction she isn't yet willing to let go, but knowing that it will help--she has to cut it alway--knowing the scars will heal and make her stronger. She wants something that has been so painful to be beautiful again, she wants the old thing that was once there back.
But it seems to me like the guy is like--I've got you so locked in you will never be let go. You are sucked in and I know I can always get you back by telling you I love you--I'll keep telling you that and you'll keep believing me. It's like the guy has taken her sanity away.
Time just as become continuous-- a cycle of the same thing and he's still got her in this routine of telling her he loves her--so she comes running back everytime. |
