Anyways, I think this song is about looking past all the technicalities of life such as working, etc. whatever your expected to do and the search for the answer to life. and saying, why do I need a reason to live? Why can't I just live? I think it's about him searching ("I trudged through the mud, I pushed through the rubble") for the answer to life when he finally finds it ("To realize that I am just alive") and that the purpose of life is to live. Idk maybe I'm just a hippie and look too deep into things haha Yeah What do you guys think?? |

I think this song is beautiful It definitely beats "Find A Way" as a slow song, but they're both good. I still think "Tunnel", "My Pesticide", and "Slit Your Own Throat" should've made the album.. |

Hey This song, to me, Is about being in love and just letting go of every little worry and just giving your all to someone ("Take all of me") haha And the "Lunacy Fringe" title, I think it's about how nowadays alot of people believe that being in love makes you crazy or the title could mean your obsessed. It's about his struggles with drugs (mainly heroine in this case) A "positive scab thats never healing" is from where he put the needle, and it's a good thing that it's a scab (like it's gone), and the never healing means he wont forget. Ok, it's touch. This song is about a one night stand. "All praises sugar coated" It means he's just saying whatever he can to get the girl in bed. "The *words* they crack like *worms* and turn your teeth up and run leave. I'm all drinks, so clean, I fall down" Is about having drinks with the girl, possibly to get her drunk so it's easier to get it. and the turn your teeth up and run, leave. Seems, to me at least, that he's saying leave, like after they do it. "In this exchange, I often TOUCH myself, so go ahead and let those dirty words pass right through me" Dirty talk. It's not hard to figure that out at all "Just passing through, not stopping by, not saying hi. Girl you can't kill a liar" Just passing through, not saying hi? It's obvious they're gonna have sex but she (or he) is not staying. this is where the concept comes around "You throw up everywhere now. Enjoy the cup and coffee. I am the puddle make me." Please, stop trying to pin Christian meanings on this. They are a Christian band so I'm sure it is in some way about god, but dont over analyze the song. "So hold your head up high and know, it's not the end of the road" This is obviously saying when something gets you down, its not the end of the world. "Walk down this beaten path before you pack your things and head home. At the end of the road you'll find what you've been longing for." Means dont give up yet and to just keep fighting, in the end it will all work out. Pretty simply. "I know 'cause my feet have the scars to show. I was lost with vague direction and no place to call home." Obviously, he knows there are rewards for pushing on because he's been through it. "It's time for you to press on This is not your war Set your sights to North and press on This is not your escape" Once again, obviously, he is saying to move on. Whatever you are going through is not who you truly are inside, and the true you can make it out. It's also pretty clear when he says "Wash away, what theyve thought of you. And press on." (which isnt in the above lyrics but it is in the song) he's saying forget what they think about you, and just move on. Here's where I got confused: "Because in this place we're all as good as dead. End cycle." I can't think of what it's saying, but I think it is something to the extent of, everybody in the worlds opinion should have no effect on us. We're all judgemental at times but you just have to press through it. "Behind the mask you'll find yourself alone" Be who you are, dont seek acceptance from these people, because it will only leave you empty on the inside. |
