| ok so who has had insomnia. its not exactly alot of fun but you become quite acquainted with the constant state of delirium and partial sleep. This song is exactly what its title suggests, a sleeping lesson. Its his guide to finally achieving sleep. Hence the lines "Just put yourself in my new hooves/And see that I do what I do" He is guiding us through a process the entire song and speaks with authority, calling for people to take his example as an expert in the process. He gives advice like a mentor. I really like the Alice and Wonderland take on it but I guess the insomniac in me is forcing me to take it too literally. i just dont think he meant it to be taken as in depth as people want to make it. As was said earlier, he wrote this cd about his insomnia. what better a way to kick off a cd about insomnia than with a sleeping lesson? | |

LOVE ben folds. LOVE mcs. LOVE this song. i think we can all pick out the ben folds influence but I love how they did it. its wonderful. i think this is one of those songs that i just classify as "beautifully depressing". "you were drunk and tried to take a mental picture with your hands" -i really like that. i dont think its sad at all. its cute to think of some girl getting drunk and doing that. oh well |
